Get Emily Blunt’s Emmy Hairstyle

I am a big fan of Emily Blunt. I particularly enjoyed the character she played in the Devil Wears Prada, but aside from that, I really do like her style when it comes to hair and makeup. This Hollywood star is always on trend and never over-the-top.

At the Emmy Awards last Sunday, she hit the red carpet with the signature waves of the 1920s. Her iconic hairstyle was everything I think a woman on the red carpet should strive to be: elegant, classy and utterly chic. Laini Reeves, co-owner of the hot new Essensuals London Salon on Melrose Avenue in L.A., styled Emily’s hair for the event and I got the inside scoop on how she did it so you can recreate the look yourself.

It shouldn’t surprise you that the line of hair products she used to get this gorgeous hairstyle is none other than Moroccanoil. To rock this look, dry and split ends are a definite faux pas. To get Emily’s locks looking silky soft, Laini used Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo and the Original Treatment. Then she applied some Intense Curl Control Cream (the most recent addition to the Moroccanoil clan) and parted Emily’s hair on the side.

Laini used the Glimmer Shine Spray on Emily’s wet hair and let it dry after using pins to create the waves. (So you add pins and wait for the hair to dry in that position.) Then she raked her fingers through the dry hair to give the waves a more natural effect. Once the waves were ready, Laini used a flat paddle brush to keep the roots flat and the waves in tact. Add some pins to hold the hair back behind the ears, spray some Luminous Hairspray and just like that, you’ll be red carpet ready.
