Red Lipstick Ain’t a Trend Honey – It’s a Staple

I’ve recently received comments from red lipstick haters asking me if this trend is on the way out any time soon. Say whaaat?! Listen up ladies, red lipstick is a beauty staple. It may have highs and lows on the runway but the bold, sensual shade is here to stay. These are my new go-tos for red. Find out why I love ‘em so much.

I know this is going to sound crazy but I’m laying it out there anyway. I’m wearing L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Gloss in Ravishing Red ($10.99) right now. I work from home, my husband’s at work and the only visitor I’ve had all day is the mailman who is now my best friend since he stops by regularly with packages of beauty samples for me. I’m sure he thinks I’m a bum but that’s neither here nor there. Anyhoo, the point it, I’m so into this gloss I wear for no good reason!

With Valentine’s Day coming up next week, I thought those of you still scared to try red lips might enjoy the gloss. A less intense look but ultra shiny and bold nonetheless. If you’re up for some eye-catching red lips to smooch your honey with, you have to try Infallible Le Rouge Lip Colour in Ravishing Red ($12.99) with the all-new Colour Riche Lip Liner in Always Red ($10.99). (Lip liner will keep your bold lip colour from bleeding.) If you don’t have a honey, then you need to get your red lip even more. Want to command some attention? This is how to get it, girl.

Now whether you’re a V-Day romantic or not, I have to know: What do you think about red lips? Are they too hot for you to handle? Or are you all about a sexy pout? And on a side note, is it weird that I will avoid kissing my husband tonight so as not to smudge my red lipstick even though we’re not going anywhere? (Yeah, I know….)

    You are adorable, Maria.
I’ve only started wearing lipstick again recently (after mt Bonne Belle phase in high school, remember those flavoured ones?) and the first one I bought myself was a bright red shade. It’s a timeless colour, and I’m totally on board with you :)
