The Highs and Lows of the MET Gala – Well…According to Me, Anyway

I so want to be nice but I am feeling like there were just so many lows on the red carpet. I mean, are celebrities just taking themselves so seriously they don’t think they have to work at it anymore? Anyhoo, let’s start with some positive energy and focus on my only two fave looks of the evening.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is gorgeous – this we know. But I really love how she’s never overdone. She is always so classy and elegant. For the MET Gala, she took on a winged eyeshadow look which I thought was really unique and cool without being over-the-top. What do you think? Yay or nay for this eyeshadow look? I also like her sleek bun.

I think I want to be Nina Dobrev! She is so pretty and what I like best is her also understated but classy look. She’s got the somewhat messy, low bun going on and some very subtle, barely-there makeup. She looks fabulous and she didn’t have to be bold and daring to do it. I like!

Now for the not-so-nice list. Kristen Stewart (I feel like she’s always on my nay list!) has taken the barely-there makeup look too far. The idea is to look effortlessly chic without trying too hard – not actually doing nothing! This girl is gorgeous and her eyes are beautiful. Is it so hard to run a brush through your hair and put on some lip gloss (or Chapstick) before you head out on the red carpet?

I don’t even know what to say about Camilla Belle – the other extreme. I like the sleek, tightly pulled back hair. I also like the dark lips – but not together. Combined, her look is very harsh, rigid and to be honest, kinda scary. I’m also not getting this shiny thing going on on her skin. Is this intentional? I don’t like it.

What did you think of the MET Gala red carpet celebs? Who were your faves?
