MTV Movie Awards: Red Carpet Hits and Disses

Get the scoop on my fave looks from last night’s MTV Movie Awards and as always, my not-so-fave looks, as well. Let’s start with Elizabeth Banks. She scores a perfect 10 in my beauty book. Read on to find out why.

The Hunger Games star hit the red carpet looking absolutely stunning. She was truly sleek and chic with her classy pulled back bun, sultry gaze and perfectly nude lips. She looked great. That’s how you do natural makeup without looking like you forgot to fix yourself. Kudos, Elizabeth!

Charlize Theron – I so want to hate you. All women do, I think. But I just can’t help but love her. She always looks fabulous and last night was no exception. I love the natural-looking lips with a hint of peach and the shimmering copper eyeshadow. Charlize is truly the master of understated beauty. Plus, ever since I saw her hilarious side on Funnyordie.com, I like her even more!

And of course, it wouldn’t be a complete and thorough evaluation of the red carpet without at least one diss. In an unlikely twist, a gal who often makes my best beauty looks list is now on the other side of the coin. Leighton Meester, one of my fave stars, showed up with an absolutely atrocious ‘do. The bangs are all wrong and honestly, it looks she pulled a K-Stew and just jumped our of bed and tied her hair in the backseat of her limo. Did her blow dryer die? Did her hair stylist quit on her? And her shiny face isn’t helping the situation. But it’s not a complete disaster – at least her coral lipstick is looking good. And her eyebrows are perfect. Even when she’s a mess, she’s still trendy. What a gift!

What did you think of last night’s looks? Who were your faves and least faves?
