Although May is turning out to be quite a disappointment in terms of the weather (in Montreal, anyway), summer actually is around the corner and it’s time to trade in our nude hues and earth tones for bold, vivid colours. Read on to find out more about the Festival of Colour Collection from Stila Cosmetics!
This collection includes daring eyeshadows, bright eyeliner and bold lip colours. I’ll start with the most intriguing product – Countless Colour Pigments Eyeshadow ($29 CDN). These baked eyeshadows are as gorgeous on the eyes as they are unique. The number one question here: How the heck do I apply these? The beauty of these shadows is that there is no one right way to wear them. It’s entirely up to you and the colour combinations are endless. I recommend dabbing your brush in one colour at a time and applying them individually. You can also swirl two or even three shades together to come up with your own custom, one-of-a-kind eye colour.
I like to apply the lightest colour on the brow bone, darkest in the crease, medium shade on the eyelid and a mixture of shades on the outer corner of the eyelid. You can mix and match as many ways as you like and there are literally dozens of combinations in each pot. There are 10 colour schemes to choose from so you’re sure to find one pot (or three!) that you love.
After Glow Lip Colour ($24 CDN) is another great item. I’m a sucker for lipstick pencils like these because they are super easy to use. Precise, smooth and compact – what’s not to love? I am in love with the bright shades available like the ones above (from left to right), Rave Red, Festive Fuchsia and Vivid Violet.
The colours glide on super smoothly for a buttery soft feel and they are slightly sheer for a bright, yet casual look. If summer isn’t the time to flirt with colour then I just don’t know when is!
If you’re into coloured eyeliner, you have two to choose from here. In a gorgeous aqua shade that enhances light eyes and brightens the gaze, you can opt for Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner in liquid or smooth pencil format. Either way, the result is bound to be out-of-the-ordinary.
The Festival of Colour Collection from Stila will be hitting Pharmaprix / Shopper’s Drug Mart stores at the end of May!
