Dior is one of my favourite beauty brands (no surprise there) and for spring, they have a whole bunch of goodies out that you should be adding to your cart as we speak! Read on to find out which spring 2014 Dior products are absolute must-haves in my book.
I’ll start with the Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyehadows ($32 each). I am obsessed with Fantaisie and Mirage, the light pink and dark earth tone pictured below. They go perfectly together and although I am dedicated to shimmering makeup, I must admit, matte is a nice change. The colours are very elegant and chic with their matte finish and they are worthy of just about any occasion. Nothing is too casual or too formal for this look. I also really like that these individual shadows can be used alone or together and come with their own, very specific applicator. The smudge-style tip makes the product easy to apply and gives it a very natural finish. If you totally suck at putting makeup on, even you can manage to get a perfect finish.
Because I’m all about eyes, I am obviously obsessed with 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Trianon Edition ($62, limited edition). This palette clearly says that pastels are in for spring 2014. And while the word pastel can be scary (and make us think of bad 80s makeup), Dior shows us that pastels can be subtle, feminine and glamorous in small doses. The only drawback is that this baby is limited edition. Try not to get attached. I know, easier said than done!
I’m also a fan of the Dior Pore Minimizer Primer ($42). This product gives the skin a matte finish and really does make pores look smaller. It’s the perfect base because it also helps your makeup adhere better. I still can’t believe it when I hear women who wear blush or eyeshadow daily say they don’t have a primer. Makeup will eventually disappear as the day goes on. We sweat, we eat, we drink, we touch our faces (even though we really, really shouldn’t) and all these things cause makeup to rub off slowly. With a primer, your makeup will look better and stay in place longer. Trust me, you need one!
Have you seen the Dior Spring 2014 collection yet? It’s on the shelves at Sephora and at Dior counters.
