What Do You Think of Princess Catherine’s Wedding Day Look?

All anyone can talk about today is this already-famous Royal Wedding. She entered Westminster Abbey as Kate and left as the Duchess of Cambridge, a princess, and a Queen-in-waiting. For such a special event, naturally, my first question is, “How’s her hair and makeup?”

From what we hear, Princess Catherine did her own makeup. While I was both shocked and terribly scared she’d look awful, she didn’t do too bad of a job. It’s no secret that the princess is all about natural-looking beauty and simple is her go-to style.

I like that she went with toned down and simple makeup because an ultra-glam look may have detracted from her stunning Alexander McQueen gown. I LOVE her Cartier tiara (borrowed from the Queen) but I sort of think she could have done more with her hair. It’s not quite doing it for me.

For those of you who are dying to get her wedding day look and attract a prince of your own, I just received word that on her special day, the biggest wedding of the century, she sported none other than Bourjois Paris So Laque Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge #28 ($10), available at Pharmaprix/Shopper’s Drug Mart. It’s such a trendy spring shade.

What do you think of Princess Catherine’s bridal look? Do you love the natural look? Or do you think she should have stepped it up?

While we’re on the topics of brides, I’d love to revisit Lady Diana Spencer‘s wedding look. As far as I’m concerned, she was truly stunning.

If These Lips Could Talk…Oh Wait, They Can! And They Want Bourjois Paris Sweet Kiss Lipstick

I’ve attended loads of beauty events, but I can honestly say the last Bourjois Paris Spring 2011 event I attended a few months back was one of the most memorable. To show me the beauty of lipstick, Bourjois Paris introduced me to Jilly Eddy, the very first lip print interpretation expert I’ve ever met.

I applied Sweet Kiss Lipstick ($18) and kissed a sheet of paper twice. The imprints of my lips were stared at by Jilly for a few minutes and she then began to tell me some things about myself. The way I pursed my lips to kiss the sheet told Jilly that I am a creative being, I have an old soul and I’m very nice unless you ruffle my feathers. My bad side is pretty ugly. I hate to admit it, but all true!

    #57  – Fuchsia Class

It was a great experience and I realized the lips reveal a lot more about our personalities than we think. The truth is, everything we do reflects who we are we just aren’t conscious of it. But listening to someone tell you about yourself was amazing. And it reminded me that I definitely want my lips looking their best…just in case anyone is trying to read me!

Sweet Kiss is a collection of ultra-hydrating, nourishing lip colours. It glides smoothly on the lips and is available in 14 shades. I am totally addicted to them. The colours range from nudes to berries and pinks. Pictured above is my fave hot pink lipstick. Here are a couple more I love.

#41 – Beige Elegant (My current go-to colour)

    #45 – Orange Apprêté

You can find the Sweet Kiss collection along with Bourjois Paris‘ other goodies at Pharmaprix/Shopper’s Drug Mart and select Murale stores.

Want to know more about lipsology? (I know, it’s so cool.) Check out Jilly Eddy’s website — and keep your pout looking great!

Must-Have: New Elastic Mascara from Bourjois Paris

If you haven’t already become obsessed with the Bourjois Paris line, you’re about to become a devoted fan. I literally test out hundreds of products for this blog to be able to share them with you and of all the mascaras I have ever tried, this is by far the most unique formula I have ever seen.

I received my Elastic Mascara ($20) in Black Unlimited about a month and a half ago and I have not been able to stop using it since. First off, let’s start with the formula. It’s literally like a liquid version of an elastic. It’s unique texture covers your lashes and gives them a lacquered finish. It has a really thin, flexible brush which normally never satisfies me. But in this case, it adheres well to both your lashes and the mascara formula. I was pleasantly surprised by it.

It goes on evenly and separates perfectly. It’s ideal for applying mascara to the outer and inner lashes as well as the inferior lashes. The really great part is that the formula never clumps. Even now, that I’ve been using it for so long, the formula’s texture has not thickened at all. It gives my lashes a voluminous and shiny finish and it lasts all day long.

There is also no flaking or drying with this mascara which is probably one of the biggest mascara problems ever. It gives your lashes 130% more length and like I said, the volume is great.

If there is one mascara you should be trying, it’s this one. Bourjois Paris Mascara Elastic will be hitting stores next month. You can visit the website,, for more information.
