Get Your Summer Glow on with Honey Bronze

Made with fair trade honey, The Body Shop‘s Honey Bronze collection, launching this May,  is not only super gorgeous, but good for the planet, as well. The ultimate must-have? The Honey Bronze Pressed Powder Compact ($18.50). This soft, satin-like powder will highlight your skin and give you that sun-kissed glow you’re looking for this summer.

With a natural finish, it will also even out your skin tone so your complexion will look flawless and radiant. The best part about this natural-looking bronzer is that it’s light so it won’t look like or feel like you have tons of makeup on. In fact, it actually feels comfortable and hydrates your skin without making it excessively oily.

If you’re looking for bronzing on-the-go, try the Honey Bronze Shimmering Powder ($22). In a convenient and compact tube with a brush included, sweeping on some shimmering bronzer has never been simpler. You cal also look the the Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel ($14) or Dry Oil ($14) for a darker complexion. Remember, these products hit stores in May 2011.

Swooning Over MAC’s Spring Essentials, Hitting Stores Todays!

Today MAC is launching a new limited edition collection: Quite Cute. Just look at these adorable products and you’ll understand the name. I am literally all smiles with these fun products. The Mineralize Blush ($27.50) in Giggly is beyond cute. I am a huge fan of MAC‘s mineralize powders because they look like second skin and feel comfortable on my face. This duo blush also comes in two other, equally adorable shades perfect for enhancing your cheekbones with summer-friendly shimmer.

And with Easter weekend coming up and spring’s pastel beauty trends, who could resist the Cutie Eyeshadow Quad ($43)? These pastel hues are on trend for the upcoming season and they’re perfect for the ultimate girly girl…and there’s a little girly girl in all of us sometimes, right?

As you can see by the campaign shot, Quite Cute is chock full of Barbie-pink shades and girlicious cosmetic choices. Hurry and snag yours today because these limited edition collections (especially one as cute as this) never last long enough.

Also launching today in the permanent collection is Bronze Everyday. My favourite gal at MAC send me this amazing Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder ($32.50) in Sun Power and I can’t get enough of it. It’s actually very dark so to make sure it blends in with my fairer skin tone, I lightly dust a thin layer on the hollows of my cheeks with a bronzer brush. It not only refreshed my whole look but gives my cheeks more depth and sculpts my face. You definitely don’t want to overdo this kind of bronzer but when used correctly, it’s a life-saver.

The collection also has various other face and body bronzers and sprays. Head to a fabulous MAC counter near you and ask a beauty expert to help you pick out the perfect products and the right shades for you. Summer, here we come!

Get a Natural and Super Sexy Glow This Summer

Bronzer time is back and I’m ridiculously excited about that. The gloom of winter seems light years away when you apply some sun-kissed makeup and give your skin the natural glow it’s been craving for months on end.

Lancôme just launched a new product called Natural Glow Star Bronzer ($46) and it’s available at Lancôme counters now. I am personally in love with it. It’s so subtle yet so chic. It gives your skin that much needed boost of radiance but won’t give you a Jersey Shore style fake tan. That just looks crazy…agreed? I like to dust this on with a bronzer brush right over my cheekbones, t-zone and the temples. It enhances my skin and gives me a more radiant look rather than a tanned effect.

If you’re into the summer’s dewy complexion trend sported by celebs like Natalie Portman (my fave), then you cannot miss La Base Dewy Glow ($44). This item is limited edition and is only expected to be available until July so don’t waste your time in snagging this little gem. It’s a refreshing mist and when you spray it on, it gives your complexion a radiant glow. You’ll look way more like a beachy California girl than a sun-deprived Canadian!

La Base Dewy Glow acts a little bit like a primer in the sense that it prepares the skin for long-lasting makeup and it’s also great for refreshing your look during the day so your complexion will never be dull. For an extra summer-friendly look, apply La Base Dewy Glow and sweep on a touch of Natural Glow Star Bronzer. You’re going to look like such a beach babe and a natural born beauty.

Giorgio Armani: Bronze Mania 2010 Makeup Palette

Tomorrow is the first day of June and soon, you’ll be very excited about that. I received a sample of Bronze Mania 2010 from Giorgio Armani about a month ago and since then, I have become an addict. It’ll be available for your shopping pleasure starting in June.

The Bronze Mania Palette is a limited edition makeup kit that includes an amazing earthy bronzing powder and 4 brightly coloured eyeshadows underneath. This palette is designed to highlight and enhance your summer glow and I can tell you from personal experience that it does the job well.

Since I came back from my vacation in Punta Cana, I have been depending on this palette to highlight my tan. Aside from the way it complements a tan, the eyeshadow colours also enhance brown eyes and hazel eyes which is such a rarity. The eyeshadows are also of the shimmering kind which I, personally, love. Shimmering makeup works best at night because it can be a little much for the during the day usually, but in this case, you can opt for a single shade on your lower lid because the makeup isn’t heavy at all.

Of course, when it comes to Giorgio Armani, you can expect good quality and this product is no exception. The makeup is very light and smooth and it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing any at all. In summer, that’s sort of a must for me. No one wants to feel their makeup on their face when it’s nearly 30 degrees outside. I am very pleased with how light the bronzing powder is and I like that even though it’s a dark shade, it’s easy to blend and leaves a matte finish.

The Bronze Mania Palette by Giorgio Armani is going to hit Holt Renfrew stores across Canada tomorrow and will be retailing for $95. It’s also a limited edition product so don’t waste any time if you think you might want to purchase this one. Once it hits the stores, I can’t imagine it remaining on the shelves for too long.

P.S. If you’re looking for tips on how to apply bronzers without looking like a pumpkin, check the blog this week for my interview with a pro makeup artist. I’ll have all the info you need on how to apply bronzer the right way so you can look your best this summer.
