Rock Your Nails with Dior’s Limited Edition Spring Nail Polish

The lovers of rock are going to swoon for this collection. Dior Vernis is known for being not only super trendy but long-lasting. I’m never disappointed with a Dior polish. Next month, they’ll be releasing the Rock Collection ($24 each), which will be exclusive to the Bay.

With 5 amazing shades and one smoky-finish topcoat, I’ve decided I need (yes, need) them all. My favourite is Perfecto #804 which is a slate grey shade. It’s the perfect follow-up to last season’s Gris Montaigne, which was an amazing hit in the beauty world. While lights polish is hot for spring 2011, a few dark shades are timeless, like deep purple and indigo.

The only sad part is that these lacquers are limited edition so who knows how long they’ll last. I’m giving you ample time to prepare. Head to the Bay store nearest you April 1 and snag your faves before anyone else does.

    Spring 2011 Makeup from Dior

While I’ve been a fan of Dior cosmetics forever (who isn’t?), I’m especially loving this year’s spring makeup collection. With it’s soft, shimmering and subdued look, it’s pretty hard to resist. Before kicking your makeup into high gear, you have to start with the right foundation. Capture Totale Radiance Restoring Serum Foundation with SPF 15 ($85) is a great place to start.

As the name suggests, this foundation will brighten your face and give your skin it’s natural glow back. It’s enhances the skin and covers up those nasty flaws we all want to conceal. Once your base is ready to go, you can dive into the rest of the hot new makeup collection.

At the moment, I find myself carrying my Dior Cannage Palette ($62 – exclusive to Holts) with me everywhere I go. Adorned with the signature D logo charms, this palette is also loaded with amazing colours. Playing on soft pink and variations of grey, you can easily create a daytime smoky effect or an all-out Kim Kardashian-style smoky eye for the evening. I am totally in love with it.

If pink isn’t your thing and you prefer to stick to the classics, I recommend the gorgeous 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Gris ($58). This little gem is great for the classic smoky eye and the shimmering finish makes it perfect for evenings.

On my lips, I’ve fallen for Serum de Rouge ($40) in Pink Coral Serum. It’s a soft pink that glides on like a gloss stick. It’s super hydrating and as you can see, it gives my lips a very subtle, just bitten look which is perfect for the spring season.

If you’re a nail polish aficionado, you won’t want to miss two of the hottest shades of the season. First, Gris Montaigne Vernis ($24). This opaque charcoal grey has a creamy, matte finish and is already the talk of the town in the beauty world. To adopt the blush and neutral trend of the spring, you’ll want to snag a bottle of Pink Boa Vernis ($24). This polish is more on the sheer side so you can apply is as a sheer nail colour or layer it up with another colour of your choice.

The new spring 2011 Dior makeup collection is out this month at Dior counters, Holt Renfrew and Sephora. (Select items are not available in all locations).

Celebrate the Holidays With Travel Palettes from Dior

You can’t ever go wrong with the gift of luxury. Dior has released some absolutely gorgeous holiday makeup palettes that I’m totally in love with. They’ll make an excellent gift for your friend, sister, or even for you.

If you’re going to splurge on one luxe beauty product this year, make it one of these. For the lip gloss fiend, the Red Cannage Travel Lip Palette ($50) is a must-have. Offered in a chic red patent travel case, are four pink and berry-toned lipsticks and glosses. The adorable kit also comes with an applicator brush so you’re guaranteed a flawless look every time.

For gals who travel frequently or like to keep makeup in their bags for touch-ups, Dior travel palettes are practically essential. I keep my Dior Travel Studio with me almost all the time and it’s been such a life-saver.

For the eyeshadow aficionados, the Red Cannage Travel Eye Palette ($50) is a fabulous choice. Featuring shades like shimmering taupe, light pink, smoky brown and gunmetal silver, this palette is sure to have you covered for everything from family get-togethers to NYE parties this holiday season.

Both of these ultra-fashionable travel palettes are available at The Bay, Holt Renfrew and select Pharmaprix/Shopper’s Drug Mart locations. While you’re there, keep an eye out for the Dior Mini Brush Set ($70). What’s makeup without good brushes to apply it?

Dior: A Smoky Look for Fall 2010

For all you cosmetics aficionados, the Christian Dior counter is about to make the top of your must-have lists. This coming season, the elite makeup brand is focusing their attention on a soft smoky look that’s literally oozing with elegance and beauty.

My favourite new addition to the Dior line is the Dior 2-Colour Logomania Collector’s Edition Eyeshadow ($39). This limited edition palette (pictured above) plays on highlighting silver and sparkling black shades meant to exaggerate the seductive look of the traditional smoky eye. With only two colours in the palette, achieving a runway-worthy Dior smoky eye is sure to be a cinch. Apply the highlighting colour to your brow bone and apply the shimmering almost-black hue to your lower lid and crease. Top the look off with some intense mascara and you’ll be ready to go.

The logo-pressed powder is as adorable as it is trendy. According to John Galliano, “Dior women are not shy, they’re modern and daring.” And the products prove it. Plus, the superior quality of Dior products is so amazing to me. They are pricier than some other brands, but they are also longer-lasting and more intense than most. Plus, they feel comfortable on.

Another fabulous Dior product you’ll soon be swooning over is the Serum de Rouge ($40) which is available in a few great shades. A creamy and hydrating lipstick is a must for every gal and fall is the best time to experiment with some dark and intense hues. Give your pout a dramatic and bold finish with Serum de Rouge. Compliments guaranteed!

The new collection is slated to hit Dior counters nationwide this fall.

Start Your Skin Care Routine with Dior

Is there anything bad one could say about Dior products? Sure, we may have issues with the hefty price tags but I swear it feels like gold on your skin so it makes the splurge a little more worthwhile.

I am hoping that all of you are already cleansing your faces twice a day. It’s the most important step in a skin care routine. Creams, anti-aging products–they’re all useless if you don’t clean your skin and rinse off the day’s excess oil and dirt build-up twice a day.

I’ve been using Dior’s new skin care products slated for September 2010 for the last couple of weeks and I absolutely love the results. I’ve mainly been using the Instant Gentle Exfoliant ($42) at night. It’s the most gentle scrub I’ve ever tried yet it gets the job done. Some gentle exfoliants don’t succeed in removing dead skin cells and excess oil but this one does. It just does it in a painless way. My skin feels and looks more radiant after I use it. (I recommend using a scrub at least 3 to 4 times per week if you’re on your 20s and everyday if you’re in your 30s.)

I also really like the Instant Cleansing Water with Pure Lily Extract ($40 – pictured above). It feels fresh, clean and gentle. It really leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated and the product smells absolutely amazing. It works best if you apply some of the water to a cotton pad to wipe off your makeup first. Then splash a little more over your face for that feeling of clean.

Dior‘s new skin care products for fall 2010 include lots of products for sensitive skin, too. If you have sensitive skin, you know how difficult it can be to find a quality product that gets the job done so you’ll really appreciate these products.

The divine new Christian Dior skin care products hit all Dior counters across Canada this coming September.
