Cream blush is definitely my newest makeup obsession and I just got this from my pals at Murale last week. I am already in love! Read on to see why this product is my new summer love.Tags: beauty, beauty blender, blush, Cactus Flower, cosmetics, cream blush, makeup, Murale, NARS, spring beauty trend, summer 2012
If you’re a fan of the hit Mad Men show then Estée Lauder‘s newest collection is really going to float your boat. I have to confess – I don’t really watch the show. But regardless, I’m still loving this whole look. Read on to see the new collection.
It’s so hard to narrow down my fave brands because quite frankly, I love all beauty products more than the Kardashian family loves the camera! But if I had to choose a fave this week, I’d have to go with Hello Kitty (available at Sephora) since I’ve been playing with these summer cuties for the past few days. Here’s a look at some of my favourites. Are these products not too cute for words?
My ultimate obsession is Hello Kitty Rollerball Eau de Parfum ($23). This compact perfume is perfect for traveling but at the rate I use it, I won’t have any left by the time I head out on my next vacation. I love scent and the rollerball bottle makes it easy to apply and 100% mess-free.
I’m also really making great use out of this Hello Kitty Charmmy Eyeshadow Stick ($21) in Friendship. This shimmering light beige has the perfect metallic finish. I love using it on the brow bone to highlight. Just glide it on and smudge with a fingertip.
I’m into cream blush these days because they last longer than traditional powder blush and I just love the Hello Kitty Apple Cheeks Blush ($29). It’s great because all you have to do is smudge it on your cheeks and then blend with your fingertips, just like the eyeshadow. This makeup is great for gals who are makeup brush-challenged and want a pretty look in 5 minutes or less.
And because I’m such a nerd, I actually wear this baby pink polish JUST because I love the bottle! Hello Kitty Liquid Nail Art ($13) is available in the absolute cutest shades ever. I’ve got Frosted Cupcake, the sheer pink with silver glitter pictured above, but I’m also a fan of Bubblegum, Blueberry and Purple Sprinkles. I bring out my inner girly-girl with this collection!

I can’t believe Mother’s Day is already almost here. This Sunday, it’s time to spoil Mom and thank her for all the hard work she does every single day. I know we’re getting my fabulous Mommy some beauty goodies (which I can’t speak of right now because she reads this!).
Why not surprise your mother with this amazing Convertible Lip and Cheek Colour from Stila? It’s a budget-friendly buy at only $33 (show above in Petunia) and because it looks just as great on the cheeks as it does on the lips, it’s the ideal gift for a mom on-the-go. It’s adorable, compact and super useful. I should know because I’m wearing it today in Gladiola (an orange colour – so hot!) Plus, I’m super addicted to cream blush these days. It just looks like second-skin.
You can find this super versatile compacts for the woman who deserves to look gorgeous even though she’s pressed for time at Shopper’s Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques. What will you be getting your mother this Sunday? Beauty goodies? Do tell!Tags: Beauty Boutique, cream blush, lip and cheek colour, online shopping, Shopper's Drug Mart, shopping, Stila, Stila Cosmetics
MAC‘s just released a ton of new goodies, I hardly know where to begin. I should probably start with the limited edition collection, Jeanius, because you can only snag these beautylicious items until April 7 (or while supplies last). I absolutely adore the denim-inspired feel of this collection. My first favourite is the eyeshadow. Pictured below is Diva in Distress ($23.50). It’s a pretty grey-tone eyeshadow with a silver pearl accent on it. Do you not love this adorable jean look?
Today I wore another great item from this collection, Riveting Rose Lipstick ($17.50). It’s a sheer deep burgundy colour with a bluish tint to it. It’s so gorgeous. This picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s not a opaque as you might think. It’s totally sheer and it enhances the lips so much. It actually gives them depth and texture, too.
On my nails, I’m really into the high gloss, ultra-shiny Biker Blue Nail Lacquer ($17). Although pale shades are the it thing for spring, a deep indigo nail polish is a classic shade. Inspired by denim, this shimmering polish is so gorgeous on. I personally prefer this dark shade on the toes, but here’s a photo of the polish on my nails so you can see how awesome the shimmer is.
Now for the new additions to the permanent collection. These are products you’re allowed to fall in love with because you can replace them when you run out. They won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Sheen Supreme Lipstick ($17.50) is a new collection offering up 14 different shades of creamy lip colour. I have Look at Her, a deep shimmering copper lipstick and I totally love it. It’s a rich, hydrating lip colour and it wears really well…all day long!
Another permanent goody is one the best new creations of the moment: Cremeblend ($23.50) blush. Cream blush is the latest creation in blush and when used appropriately, it can be the best thing that ever happened to you. My personal tip is to apply cream blush with a triangular-shaped makeup sponge. Dab the sponge very lightly into the blush and dab the sponge on your cheek, slowly blending as you go along. It take a few minutes to blend it but it literally becomes like second skin and can appear quite natural.
Before applying any of my new makeup products, I start with Future Face Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 ($38). It’s available in two different shades so your skin can look more or less tanned. It gives my skin a natural glow and is making up for the Jamaican tan I’m sadly losing. I can’t even imagine living without a tinted moisturizer. Plus, it has SPF and as you loyal readers know, you should never ever leave without it any day of the year.
