    Lancôme Partners With Denis Gagnon

Local designer Denis Gagnon has made a name for himself not only in Montreal, but all over the world. As one of Canada’s top designers, it’s no surprise that he’s teamed up with one of the leading, most coveted beauty brands out there: Lancôme.

While Spring/Summer 2011 couldn’t be further from our minds at the moment, the runway was ablaze in Montreal last week with chic trends that will make their way to your closet next season.

Denis Gagnon has taken a very rock ‘n’ roll approach to his new collection. And with every fashionable and fabulous collection comes a beauty trend you won’t want to miss. I am personally, loving the makeup by Lora Spiga, makeup artist for Lancôme, especially the eyes.

To offset the just-bitten lips, Lancôme opted for thick eyeliner on both the upper and lower lash line. Rather than opting for dark black liner only, Lancôme complemented Denis’ fab collection with green, coral and indigo blue eyeliners, as well.

I love how the colour is lightly smudged for a soft finish and I am definitely a fan of the cat eye look, too. To get the look, Aquatique Shadow Base ($28) was used to unify the lid. Once the base was prepped, Artliner in Black ($37) was used or Le Crayon Khol ($27) in various shades for each model. To finish off, a soft wash of Colour Design Eye Shadow ($50) was dabbed on and smudged with the fingers to emphasize the lids and a few coats of Définicils Precious Cells Mascara ($34) was applied.

Applying the liner is simple. If you want to experiment with the trend yourself, just choose the colour you like best and feel most comfortable with (Tip: opt for a colour that will make your eye colour pop) and draw the top lash line. Start in the inner corner and stretch the liner towards the hairline and slowly curving the line upwards. Then do the same on the bottom, except curve it upward to meet the top line. The best part about the look is that is needs to be slightly smudged so you can easily conceal any mistakes you make along the way.
