Last week, I told you about Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Eyeshadow collection (amazing, btw). This week, the rest of the collection has come my way and it looks absolutely stunning. With all the fabulous fall 2010 makeup products coming my way, I can hardly wait for autumn to hit.
The Pure Color collection by Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder‘s Creative Makeup Director, is a collection he calls iconic and trendy for fall/winter 2010. The collection is focused on smouldering eyes, shimmering lips and bold nails. Love, love, love!
The range of colours in the two limited edition Pure Color collections, Blue Dahlia and Surreal Violet, are so versatile and there’s something for everyone. “I like to give women choices in the way that they look. From a neutral to a smoky to a fashionable, strong look, the blue can be used with them all,” Tom says.
Blue Dahlia, pictured above, is one of my favourite new collections for fall. Indigo blue is very hot for the upcoming season (expect lots of dark shades for the season to come) and the collection has got lots of it, plus some fantastic complementary pink hues for the lips to offset the eyes.
Surreal Violet (pictured directly above) also plays with blues and greens for the eyes but focuses on different shades of violet for the lips. From the lipsticks to the glosses, they’re all fabulous and suitable for women of all ages. What I really love about collections like this is what they allow you to do. They give women who are afraid of colour (and there are tons of them) the chance to experiment with trends without going too far out of their comfort zone. Blue is in but with this collection, you don’t have to be decked out in it from head to toe. Complementary shades are just as important to a collection as the vibrant main products are.
This two limited edition collections will hit Estée Lauder counters across Canada starting in August. Luckily, that’s only a few weeks away. Sigh, summer is going to be coming to an end but hopefully, the new products you score will make up for it. What are your fave items in the new collection? (The prices of the items are listed below):
Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette $47.50
Pure Color Gloss Stick $21.00
Pure Color Gloss $22.50
Pure Color EyeShadow Single $22.50
