Sephora Loves Canada, and We Love Them Right Back!

Sephora’s latest combo palette is called Sephora Loves Canada and it’s totally adorable. It’s jam-packed with $60 worth of cosmetics but retails for only $18! I love me a good bargain.

I am a huge fan of this limited edition summertime palette because it includes some of my fave colours of the season. There are 9 khaki, beige and pink eyeshadows that can be mixed and match in a million different ways. I love how this nude palette is making the most of the season’s trendiest colours.

The palette also includes 4 romantic lip glosses varying from deep to baby pink. And to finish off your summertime look with this collection, the palette also includes a gorgeous pale pink blush to accent the cheeks and illuminate your entire face. Blush pinks and neutrals are hot for spring 2011 so this budget-friendly goody is a can’t-miss!

It’s available at Sephora now but only for a limited time. Will you be heading to a store near you to snag this amazing product?

    The Perfect Summer Eyeshadow Palette

When summer finally gets here and we actually start getting a little colour, we’re going to want to maximize on it! To enhance a tan, I always opt for a shimmering bronze eyeshadow or something in the gold tones. Another great colour choice is something vibrant because it adds to the luminous look of a sun-kissed glow.

Estée Lauder has just released the Limited Edition Bronze Goddess Island Oasis Eyeshadow Palette ($50) and I think it has the perfect combo of spring/summer-friendly colours that are sure to enhance a glowing complexion. Every year, the Bronze Goddess collection releases the best summer makeup.

The palette is limited edition so that means you need to get a move on. Head to an Estée Lauder counter near you this weekend and look for this palette. The iridescent shades like Gold Bronze and Pink Teal are a must this season.

Shu Uemura Reminds Me that Spring is on the Way

With snowstorms in March here in Montreal, I have a really hard time believing spring is on its way. Luckily, Shu Uemura has sent me amazing samples of their spring collection recently and so far it seems to be doing the trick. I have become super obsessed with the Sunset Gold Limited Edition Palette ($85). With bronze and brown sunset tones, this summery palette gives my eyes a chic shimmering glow while the soft pink blush highlights my cheekbones perfectly. It’s the ideal summer look plus, it really lasts all day long. At the end of the day, it still looks like I just applied it. It’s the perfect little luxury to spoil yourself with this season.

As usual, when I go heavy on the eye makeup, I like to take it easy on the lips. I am absolutely in love with Rouge Unlimited Lipstick ($31), which is available in two summer-friendly shades: a soft pink and sweet apricot. These lip colours are spring and summer-ready because they’re light, natural and the perfect complement to a bronze shimmer on the eyes. I totally love.

And to make sure you get the rest of your makeup to stay in place all day long, I like to go with the Limited Edition UV Under Base Mousse Sakura Collection by Mika Ninagawa ($48). It gives the skin a natural and healthy-looking glow while keeping your makeup in tact. Plus, don’t even pretend you’re not totally in love with this canister? It’s so pretty!

Shu Uemura is available at Holt Renfrew.

YSL Spring Stunner: Pure Chromatic Wet n’ Dry Eyeshadow

I have become addicted to this palette. And I really can’t afford to be addicted to more things because my makeup drawers are already exploding! But the new Pure Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette ($74) is a luxurious spring essential you are going to fall head-over-heels for. It hits Holt Renfrew, The Bay and select Murale stores this April. I’ve been using my palette nearly every day since I received it.

As you can see by the images, YSL is about to release yet another stunning luxury product, perfect for the gal who wants to spoil herself this spring. The palette pictured below is the one I’m using. The beauty of these palettes is that the iridescent eyeshadows can be used both wet or dry.

Naturally, when you use the eyeshadows dry, their enhancing shimmer is suitable for the daytime. When used wet, you can get the ultra-dramatic and bold look pictured below. So gorgeous. Looks like we have more to look forward to next month than just warmer weather!

    Spring 2011 Makeup from Dior

While I’ve been a fan of Dior cosmetics forever (who isn’t?), I’m especially loving this year’s spring makeup collection. With it’s soft, shimmering and subdued look, it’s pretty hard to resist. Before kicking your makeup into high gear, you have to start with the right foundation. Capture Totale Radiance Restoring Serum Foundation with SPF 15 ($85) is a great place to start.

As the name suggests, this foundation will brighten your face and give your skin it’s natural glow back. It’s enhances the skin and covers up those nasty flaws we all want to conceal. Once your base is ready to go, you can dive into the rest of the hot new makeup collection.

At the moment, I find myself carrying my Dior Cannage Palette ($62 – exclusive to Holts) with me everywhere I go. Adorned with the signature D logo charms, this palette is also loaded with amazing colours. Playing on soft pink and variations of grey, you can easily create a daytime smoky effect or an all-out Kim Kardashian-style smoky eye for the evening. I am totally in love with it.

If pink isn’t your thing and you prefer to stick to the classics, I recommend the gorgeous 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Gris ($58). This little gem is great for the classic smoky eye and the shimmering finish makes it perfect for evenings.

On my lips, I’ve fallen for Serum de Rouge ($40) in Pink Coral Serum. It’s a soft pink that glides on like a gloss stick. It’s super hydrating and as you can see, it gives my lips a very subtle, just bitten look which is perfect for the spring season.

If you’re a nail polish aficionado, you won’t want to miss two of the hottest shades of the season. First, Gris Montaigne Vernis ($24). This opaque charcoal grey has a creamy, matte finish and is already the talk of the town in the beauty world. To adopt the blush and neutral trend of the spring, you’ll want to snag a bottle of Pink Boa Vernis ($24). This polish is more on the sheer side so you can apply is as a sheer nail colour or layer it up with another colour of your choice.

The new spring 2011 Dior makeup collection is out this month at Dior counters, Holt Renfrew and Sephora. (Select items are not available in all locations).

Sparkle and Shine with Tarina Tarantino

Known for her modern jewellery (and probably for her bold pink hair, too), Tarina Tarantino is anything but ordinary. Her personality sparkles and so does her amazing cosmetics collection. The Tarina Tarantino line is available exclusively at Sephora. This spring, you can expect to store your matte makeup until next fall and make some room for glitz and glam.

The Floriculture Eyeshadow Palette ($49) is going to be a this spring. It has it all: shimmer, radiance and vibrant colour. The shadows are all hyper-pigmented and they have that pearly, jewel-like finish Tarina’s makeup goodies are best known for.

For the gloss lover, you won’t want to miss Sparklicity Gloss ($18). Made with gemstone powders, this hyper-shiny gloss has a crystalline effect. It also acts as a lip stain so the more you apply, the darker the shade can become. You can control how light or dark you wish for the gloss to appear. Bonus: It’s super hydrating and lasts for hours.

If you’re looking for a dewy summertime look, you’ll definitely want to try out the Tinted Pearl Glow Primer ($42). It has the characteristics of a primer with a pearl-like finish. That means you will start off your makeup routine with radiant skin. All these great products are waiting for you at Sephora.

    CARGO Lumieres du Monde Collection

Another fabulous holiday palette has made my list of favourites this season. CARGO‘s all-new Lumières du Monde Collection ($29) is a glamorous collection of eight high quality eyeshadows and one blush/bronzer duo.

Adorned with a pretty jewel, exotic design and snowflake-imprinted makeup, this luminous makeup palette is the perfect gift for any beauty aficionado. If you’re looking simply to spoil yourself, this collection is a great place to start.

I am really loving the unique, shimmering eyeshadows that can be easily used as a light accent when dry or heavy set smoky eye when applied wet. Aside from the magnificent shimmering gold eyeshadow which completes any holiday collection, there is absolutely nothing ordinary about this item. The Deep Teal Green shade is an elegant twist on the festive colours of the holiday season and it’s subtle hints of green really makes light eye colours pop.

I’m also really loving Perriwinkle Purple. It’s such a unique shade and depending how thickly you apply it, it can be the perfect daytime shade or the fanciest evening hue. Glittery Gold is definitely a favourite of mine and I love how subtle, yet chic, it is. The Matte Beige and Matte Warm Grey are also great colours. They’re perfect for the earth-tone lover and suit more casual holiday occasions. Plus, this collection is actually valued at $156 but retails for the wallet-friendly price of only $29.

With this one palette, you or your lucky gift receiver will be set for makeup for the rest of the season. You can pick up your own CARGO Lumières du Monde Collection at the following locations: Sears Toronto Eaton Centre, Sears Square One, Sears Yorkdale, Sears Fairview, Sears Robson, and select independent Beauty Boutiques.

    Benefit: Her Name Was Glowla

Makeup palettes such as this adorable one from Benefit make me wish it was the holidays all year! I haven’t yet had the chance to buy any ornaments or decorations for the holidays but I have already stocked up on some amazing holiday beauty products. You can see what my priorities are…

Murale is certainly one of my favourite makeup shops. (The only downside is that I get a touch too carried away.) This holiday season, aside from the amazing Lippmann nail polishes I showed you last week and some other fab items, Murale is also carrying Her Name Was Glowla, a gorgeous new makeup palette from Benefit Cosmetics that’s just for the holidays.

What really makes this palette so nice is the nude, barely-there theme. With trendy nude hues, this palette is all about accentuating a natural-looking glow. The nude trend is one of the hottest of the season so you can’t go wrong with this kit.

It comes with two complexion enhancers that will leave you wondering how you ever lived without them before, soft earth-toned shadows and an applicator brush, a gorgeous coral blush with brush, a shimmering nude gloss and the ever-popular Bad Gal Mascara. The entire Her Name Was Glowla Makeup Palette is available at Murale for $40.

I am obsessed with the natural glow look and a shimmering gloss never evades me. Spoil yourself this season or give your best gal pal the ultimate stocking stuffer.
