Already an accomplished fashion designer, Charlotte Ronson has taken to the beauty industry with a new collection that just launched exclusively at Sephora. When asked about her collection, Charlotte said she wanted to create something for women who love beauty but don’t necessarily want a complicated beauty routine. She designed this collection for the simple yet positively chic woman who adores being on trend but doesn’t care to spend her day achieving runway-worthy looks. Only at Sephora: Tarte Holiday Palette

After my recent blog about the Sephora Endless Color Holiday Blockbuster, it’s not surprising that I have a few more combination makeup sets up my sleeve for the holiday season. I’m officially addicted to makeup so naturally, these oh-so-covetable sets always catch my eye.

The Tarte Holiday Palette is always a unique one. I still use last season’s jewel-adorned palette so I know from experience that Tarte‘s high quality sets give you more bang for your buck. December is quickly approaching and if you don’t get your holiday shopping done soon, you may risk being stuck in the dreaded Christmas Eve lineups (nooooo!).

If you’re ready to get started on your shopping, Sephora should be your first stop. The Tarte Holiday Palette ($68) is a glamorous makeup set that differs from the rest. It not only offers 32 full-size eyeshadows, 8 lip glosses, loads of great eyeliners, bronzer and highlighting powder, but the adorable gold-toned box comes with a black and gold detachable necklace. That means your beauty junkie friend can fulfill her inner fashionista at the same time.

Give the luxurious gift of beauty this holiday season with Tarte’s ultra-glam combo kit. With colours for every occasion, your giftee will thank you all year long. If you’re a makeup aficionado like myself, it doesn’t hurt to throw one of these in the basket for yourself.

I would never encourage my readers to spend their money unnecessarily (trust me, I work hard for mine, too). If you or your giftee love experimenting with makeup and having a colour for every occasion, this palette will be money well spent.

2010 makeup trends according to Chanel

I know, I know! Summer is the season we’re excited for right now but I also want to get a heads up on fall 2010′s trends. Chanel‘s 2010-2011 fashion show included models donning some extreme makeup. While I wouldn’t suggest recopying the exact same smudged eye makeup look for everyday, a more wearable version of Chanel’s look is on trend for 2010.

As I already mentioned last week when I showed you Lancôme’s smoky eye, the intense eye is h-o-t! Makeup trends for fall (which we can start sporting now to be ahead of the game) are all about the eyes.

Chanel‘s models were made up with Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow in Enigma, which is an all-new palette for fall. Can’t wait to try it out myself. To get this runway-ready look, cover your lower eyelid and the crease with a dark silver or nearly black shade. Save the darkest black for tracing the contour of the eyes. Smudge the dark shade around the crease to give it a more wearable touch.

Of course, with a trend as intense as this one, it’s important to maintain a balance. Since the eyes are front and centre, keep your complexion and lips neutral. Chanel models sported flawless complexions with the help of corrector and loose powder. Apply corrector or concealer directly on imperfections and finish off with a light veil of loose powder to sculpt the face and leave it with a smooth finish. To add some subtle colour, Chanel used their new blush, Joues Contraste in Pink Cloud and Rose Temptation, both of which are totally new for fall 2010.

The lips are colour-free with only a touch lip balm to keep them hydrated and smooth. The key to pulling off this look is balance. You might want to skip on eye makeup out to your temples, but the Chanel runway is definitely inspiring some of the upcoming season’s trendiest looks.

Personally, I can’t wait to get Chanel’s new fall products. I’m a huge fan. Which Chanel products are your favourites?
