The Ultimate Age-Defying Gift from Neostrata

Tick-tock: only TWO days left to shop! Still looking for a gift but don’t have time to head or the motivation to brave the packed mall? No problem. Head to Pharmaprix / Shopper’s Drug Mart instead and pick up an incredible value Holiday Set from Neostrata.

Made for women of all ages, Neostrata’s Instant Renewal Gift Set retails for $72.50, but is actually valued at $143.50! That means your ever-so-lucky giftee will be getting way more than she ever expected. The gift set includes Skin Renewal Peel Solution, Skin Resurfacing Duo and Anti-Wrinkle Lip Enhancer.

Basically, this kit contains everything a gal needs to keep her skin looking impeccable this winter. Skin care is my biggest obsession. I think I may even apply more creams to my face than makeup. But with all the harmful environmental factors out there (like UV rays, pollution, dry air, humidity, etc.) our skin takes a beating out there. And no one wants to spot wrinkles a second too soon.

No, you can’t prevent aging altogether, but you can always take the proper steps to make sure your skin looks best for your age whether you’re 25 or 65. Taking care of skin properly now means greater looking skin when as you age. Plus, with Skin Renewal Peel Solution, you’ll see results after the first use so you know it’s working.

Give your beauty-conscious gal pal the gift of gorgeous skin this holiday season with the Instant Renewal Gift Set from one of the world’s leading skin care brands, Neostrata.

Clinique Click and Be Happy Gift Set

Still in need of one last stocking stuffer (or two)? Clinique’s got you covered. This holiday season, they’ve got these adorable gift sets that are easy on the budget and chock full of goodies.

The Click and Be Happy Gift Set (about $30) comes with three lip glosses and three mini fragrance bottles. What makes this kit spectacular? Each fragrance can be connected to a lip gloss and dumped in your bag for quick and easy touch-ups all day long. Plus, all 6 of the items are interchangeable so they sky’s the limit when it comes to pairing up a gloss and scent to fit your mood.

What I like best about Clinique lip glosses is that they stay put all day long, give that shiny lacquered finish but aren’t sticky or heavy. Plus they’re super moisturizing and they each have SPF 15 for added protection.

The mini fragrances include Happy, A Hint of Citrus and A Wealth of Flowers. Judging by the diversity of aromas, I’d say this gift set would have any gal covered from A to Z.

    Last-Minute Holiday Gifts from LUSH

If you’re not finished your Christmas shopping yet, here are a few more ideas to help you out. After all, Christmas is next week!

If you’re in need of an affordable stocking stuffer for a gal who like sweet scents, Have a Sweet Christmas ($14.95) from LUSH may be the perfect option. It contains a sweet vanilla-scented Candy Cane Bubble Bar and a chunk of the Snowfairy-scented Godmother Soap.

If you’re looking to spoil someone a touch more, I suggest the Christmas Star ($34.95). Packaged in a festive box, this gift set contains six of the top-selling LUSH bath bombs. Every now and then, I like to indulge myself in a bath with one of these bombs and it’s so soothing, relaxing and calming in every way. It’s my way of treating myself to a mini spa day. If you know someone in need of her own mini spa day, this is the way to go.

While LUSH offers dozens of holiday gift sets this year to suit every budget and every lady, one of my favourite ultra-luxe gift sets is Winter Wonderland ($114.95). It contains all of my favourites and the items are practical and fun at the same time. This set contains shower and body treatments, soaps, scrubs and gels, all with a different fragrance. It’s sure to satisfy any gal’s pampering needs.

To pick up one of LUSH’s coveted holiday gift sets, head to a LUSH store near you or lush.ca. For online shopping, you better hurry if you want delivery for Christmas! Plus, they’re offering free shipping until December 19.

    Last-Minute Gift Idea: Love, Chloé

An elegant, feminine fragrance is always the perfect indulgence for the glam gal on your holiday shopping list. For the girl who has everything and is leaving you stuck in a last-minute shopping situation, Love, Chloé may be the gift you’ve been looking for.

Just released in October of this year, this radiant, feminine scent speaks to the spontaneous, charming and graceful woman. I’m a fan of Chloé fragrances and if you are, too, you’re sure to love this utterly chic new addition.

This gift is definitely a luxe purchase but it’s totally worth it for someone who really deserves to be spoiled a little bit (like perhaps…you?). Love, Chloé Eau de Parfum ($90, 50mL) comes in a trendy bottle that’s inspired by the same beauty as Chloé’s leather goods. Plus, in case you don’t already know, eau de parfum’s are much more concentrated than eau de toilette fragrances. That means you only need to apply a touch of the fragrance to benefit from its beautiful aroma. It’s more expensive but will last much longer. (I like to save my eau de parfums for truly special occasions.)

If you’re looking to purchase this seductive number for the holidays, you should head to Holts. In January, the fragrance will be available at Murale stores, as well, along with the body lotion and shower gel.

Holiday Gift Idea: Make Your Own Beauty Basket

The holidays can sometimes have you stumped for gift ideas. Often times, we’re at a complete loss for the perfect gift. But what if the perfect gift was really several gifts? I love the idea of making your own Christmas baskets. All you have to do is get yourself a wicker basket at the Dollar store, fill it with tissue and load it up with products your gift receiver needs and uses.

A gift doesn’t always have to be some huge surprise. Giving the beauty-addicted gal a basket full of goodies shows thought. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to open people up to new products that they may otherwise never try on their own.

Makeup baskets are always good, but I’m a big fan of skin care baskets. It’s the most important part of our beauty routines yet it’s the part most people pay the least attention to.

I love this cute Olay Gift Set ($12.99 — pictured above). It comes with a cleanser, toner (very important!) and a face washcloth. It’s affordable, useful and actually essential. I have this set myself and it makes my skin look and feel clean and fresh in no time.

A basket only works if it has several products, so use your imagination and add a few more goodies you think your gal pal might need. I’m a sucker for the Olay Thermal Pedicure Treatment ($15.99 — pictured above). It’s an amazing product that hydrates the feet during the harsh winter weather. Hard, dry feet? Not hot!

This holiday season, don’t wrack your brain thinking of what ONE gift will please your friends and family. Put a touch more effort and make your own basket…and keep your budget happy at the same time.

What would you want your gift basket to include if you received one? Give me the deets on what you would like your basket to include in the comments below and I may just send it to you. Happy holidays!

    Principessa Holiday Gift Sets

As you may already know, I’m a sucker for Principessa Beauty’s adorable and sweet-smelling products. For the holiday season, they’ve come up with some fantastic sets that will make the absolute perfect gift for any girl who likes to pamper herself. Plus, the holiday sets are 40% off!

First up is the Bellocia Gift Set ($62 value for only $37). This limited edition set comes wrapped in the signature Principessa Beauty colours and includes one of my favourite products, the Pretty Piede Foot Balm (it’s like butter!). It also includes Bellocia Piccola Perfume Oil, Cattiva Diva Hand Cream (so luxurious), and Dolce Dreams Whipped Body Lotion.

I would recommend this gift for a woman who really enjoys the spa and spa-like experiences, loves to pamper herself and likes sweet aromas and silky soft skin.

The Isolina Gift Set ($59 value for only $35) is perfect for the woman who’s always on-the-go. This pretty boxed limited edition gift set includes Fresh Fiore Creamy Body Wash, Bianco Breeze Dry Shampoo (a must), Isolina Piccola Perfume Oil and a pretty pink pouf.

The reason this gift set is so practical for the traveling gal is that it contains everything you need to feel fresh and clean and smell amazing, too. The dry shampoo is probably the one product that will save your girlfriend’s life while traveling. I can’t even bring myself to leave the city without dry shampoo tucked away in my bag…just in case!

Peace, Love and Juicy Couture Fragrance Gift Set

Looking for the perfect gift for the fragrance fiend on your list this year? This designer fragrance gift set from Elizabeth Arden is the perfect option for the girly girl who loves Juicy Couture and appreciates a sweet aroma.

With floral hints of patchouli, lemon tree blossom, honeysuckle, sweet apple, black currant, jasmine and a touch of musk, this fragrance is perfectly suited to a young, trendy and outgoing gal with a hippie chic style.

This undeniably adorable Peace, Love and Juicy Couture Fragrance Gift Set (available at Pharmaprix / Shopper’s Drug Mart for $90) includes a 50ml Eau de Parfum Spray, a 125ml Body Lotion and a 125ml Shower Gel.

The pros of a gift set? For starters, it’s easy to shop for and is already so elegantly packaged, saving you the time of looking for a creative way to gift it. Second, your giftee gets an array of products rather than just one gift. The beauty of a set is that your luck gift receiver gets to enjoy a little bit of everything.

Stila Limited Edition Holiday Lip Glaze Set

Sets that give you more bang for your buck always make excellent gifts. Your giftee gets an amazing gift and you don’t have to go broke at the same time.

Stila’s limited edition Lip Glaze Set is valued at $158 but only retails for $33. With 8 shimmering, shining lip glosses, what more could you ask for? The set includes 4 classic shades and 4 all-new ones. From understated Apricot (my current fave, which I am wearing today) to Majesty, a deep juicy berry, there’s a shade for every occasion in here.

These glosses are also great if you’re looking for lip glosses for yourself. The kit has got you covered from A to Z. The darker shades, which are still understated, are perfect for family get-togethers and the barely-there shades will perfectly complement intense eyes.

For NYE, I’m all about a smoky eye. But when your eye is the focus, your lips need to be less flashy and they absolutely need an elegant finish. (Going completely bare isn’t a very good solution because it makes you look unfinished.)

As you can see in my photo, that’s exactly what I decided to do for my engagement party. I went all out on the eyes and I just needed a soft glaze on my lips to finish off the look without taking away from the smoky eye. I think the combo worked well.

This holiday season, whether you decide to spoil a gal pal or spoil yourself (which I fully believe in doing from time to time) Stila’s Limited Edition Lip Glaze Set should be on your must-have list. Pick up your set at a Pharmaprix / Shopper’s Drug Mart Beauty Boutique today.
