Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Mamma Mia Gift Package fro LUSH

First off, this Mamma Mia gift ($39.95) is the name awesome but the package itself is super cute. And not because I don’t love my mother or anything, but pre-wrapped gifts are my besties!

The Mamma Mia gift package is also super affordable even though it’s chock full of amazing products no woman should go without. Aside from the amazing, super nourishing soaps and bath gel LUSH is known for, the package also includes Creamed Almond & Coconut Smoothie cream and Sugar Scrub.

I’m a self-professed sugar scrub addict. The sugar is a natural exfoliate and not only does it smell lovely but it’ll leave your skin feeling silky smooth and supple. Doesn’t Mom deserve to wrap herself in luxury every once in a while? You can pick up this neatly prepared gift pack at LUSH now! (And I won’t judge you if you buy an extra one for yourself.)

LUSH Presents Rehab for Your Hair

First off, sorry for the missed post yesterday. I was really under-the-weather and couldn’t write up my daily post. My bad! But today I’m good as new and back in the game.

I just came back from a glorious week in Jamaica this past weekend and the first thing I noticed when I got off the plane (other than the fact that I was freezing) was that my hair felt drier and more coarse than it did when I was in the wonderful Jamaican climate. Thank God I still had some LUSH Rehab Shampoo ($12.95 100ml/ $23.95 250ml/ $39.95 500ml) left.

This shampoo is great because its main purpose is to strengthen hair and bring it back to life using all-natural ingredients (no chemical stuff) like papaya, kiwi and pineapple extracts. These products actually digest dirt and control excess sebum while keeping your hair perfectly hydrated and smooth.

It also contains jojoba, almond and olive oils which are the best ingredients you can get when it comes to instant hydration of the hair. My hair got damaged in the sun and when I got home, the sub-zero temperatures and windy conditions dried it out even further. A few shampoos with this product and my locks were good as new. You can actually feel it working when you use it.

Tip: Follow up with a hydrating conditioner as well. Remember never to apply conditioner to your roots. Only apply from midway down to the tips, with emphasis on the ends.

    Last-Minute Holiday Gifts from LUSH

If you’re not finished your Christmas shopping yet, here are a few more ideas to help you out. After all, Christmas is next week!

If you’re in need of an affordable stocking stuffer for a gal who like sweet scents, Have a Sweet Christmas ($14.95) from LUSH may be the perfect option. It contains a sweet vanilla-scented Candy Cane Bubble Bar and a chunk of the Snowfairy-scented Godmother Soap.

If you’re looking to spoil someone a touch more, I suggest the Christmas Star ($34.95). Packaged in a festive box, this gift set contains six of the top-selling LUSH bath bombs. Every now and then, I like to indulge myself in a bath with one of these bombs and it’s so soothing, relaxing and calming in every way. It’s my way of treating myself to a mini spa day. If you know someone in need of her own mini spa day, this is the way to go.

While LUSH offers dozens of holiday gift sets this year to suit every budget and every lady, one of my favourite ultra-luxe gift sets is Winter Wonderland ($114.95). It contains all of my favourites and the items are practical and fun at the same time. This set contains shower and body treatments, soaps, scrubs and gels, all with a different fragrance. It’s sure to satisfy any gal’s pampering needs.

To pick up one of LUSH’s coveted holiday gift sets, head to a LUSH store near you or lush.ca. For online shopping, you better hurry if you want delivery for Christmas! Plus, they’re offering free shipping until December 19.

    Happy Halloween from LUSH Cosmetics

Halloween is coming up and, personally, I like to get into the spirit (no pun intended). I am a fan of all festive holidays so it’s no surprise that when LUSH delivered a package of fresh Halloween-themed handmade cosmetics to my door, I was happy as a clam! These special soaps are inspired by Mexico’s “Day of the Dead,” a day to celebrate lost and departed souls. (Spooky, huh?!)

I’ll start with my favourite product in the bunch: Calacas Shower Jelly ($4.95). This slime-like jelly is in the shape of a skull and it’s bursting with the aroma of lime which smells absolutely amazing, especially in the shower. Here’s the real beauty of the spooky soap: you put it in the freezer so it gets extra chilled. The next morning, you take your still-soft, freezing cold jelly and slap it on your skin in the shower. It’ll give you a real fright but it’s invigorating at the same time. It’s much like hot and cold baths at a spa; insanely cold yet amazing at the same time. The jelly also has aloe vera gel for soft skin.

Tip: If you want to have a little more fun with this jelly on Halloween, try throwing it on your man while he’s in the shower. The frozen feeling of the jelly is sure to scare him. And it’ll be hilarious to watch!

The next Halloween-inspired piece is the Calavera Bath Bomb ($5.95). This is just amazing. For those who enjoy a spa-like experience (like myself), this is the product for you. Just dunk it into the bath and let it dissolve. It’ll turn your water lime green, blue and orange for a very festive look. At the same time, it soothes and softens skin in the bath. It’s so relaxing. It also contains Mexican marigold petals to soften skin even more.

The Lady Catrina Soap ($5.95) is inspired by a painting by Jose Guadalupe Posada which was designed to show that the rich are as susceptible to death as everyone else. Lady Catrina’s big, embellished hats have since become a symbol of Mexico’s “Day of the Dead” celebrations. My favourite part? Aside from the cultural and festive aspects of it, the soap is zesty and soft. My skin feels smooth and has a great scent afterward.

Get ready for Halloween everyone! It’s coming up.

    Must-have: LUSH Sole Revival Kit

Despite the not-so-hot wether we’ve been getting the last couple of days here in Montreal, summer is here and sandal weather is in full swing. The only thing that kills a great pair of summer sandals and a pretty pedicure are dry, cracked feet. If you don’t want to spend a ton of money at the salon, you might want to try LUSH’s Sole Revival Kit.

At only $20, this collection of 7 foot products is exactly what you need to keep your feet hydrated and looking smooth. The kit contains a Volcano Foot Mask. If you’ve never tried a foot mask before, take my word for it. You need it. It feels so great when you rinse off the mask. It’s like a facial for your footsies.

The kit also has Little Feet Bath Bombs (shaped like feet–so adorable!), Body Butter, Foot Lotion and Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter. It’s everything you need to give yourself a spa-worthy pedicure at a wallet-friendly price.

Get to a LUSH location near you to check out this kit (which is too cute for words) and more of their handmade, luxurious soaps.

Soften your lips with LUSH’s Bubble Gum Lip Scrub

The summer’s the best time to experiment with loads of different lip glosses but if there’s one thing that ruins any good gloss, it’s dry, cracked lips. You should always keep your lips hydrated (tip: I put Vaseline on my lips every night to keep them soft and hydrated) and give them a scrub from time to time.

Just like your face, your lips needs to be exfoliated. Because the skin on the lips is fine and delicate, you don’t need to do this often (definitely not more than once a week).

LUSH recently released three new lip scrubs. My personal fave is Bubble Gum but the scrub is also available in Mint Julips and Sweet Lips (a chocolaty flavour). With castor sugar and organic jojoba, the scrub removes dry, flaky skin, prevents chapped lips and will leave your pout with a smooth, silky feeling. Plus, all three scrubs are vegan-friendly.

At only $8.95, who could resist? Make your pout kissably soft with this scrub. You can pick up any of the three scrubs, as well as all of LUSH‘s other handmade cosmetics, at any LUSH location or online at Lush.ca.
