With all the holiday parties coming up this season, you can’t afford not to look your best. With YSL‘s new holiday 2010 collection, you definitely won’t have that problem. Thanks to YSL‘s top quality products that are always one step ahead of the latest trends, I’m finding myself unable to make it through my day without at least a little YSL makeup.
As you can see in the photo, the all-new YSL End of Year 2010 Collection is all about shimmer. The collection, while glam and trendy is also discreet and understated. Let’s start with the blockbuster of the collection: the Limited Edition Palette Metallic Colorama ($78).This pearly face highlighter is the most coveted of the season. I like to dab it onto my cheekbones, nose and brow bones. It adds an instant runway-ready finish to any look and it can be substituted as blush, eyeshadow and more.
In the above photo, you’ll also notice a few other holiday gems. Rouge Pure Shine Lipstick in Metallic Pink ($35) is the ultimate holiday lipstick. While it has a shimmering finish fit for the season, it’s also a very classic colour that won’t take you too far out of your comfort zone. It’s a great daytime colour, plus it’s creamy, hydrating and feels comfortable on the lips. For fancy evenings, turn to Golden Gloss ($34) in one of four shimmering shades. Its rich texture is sure to not only last for hours, but keep lips plump, hydrated and smooth.
Touche D’Or Face Highlighter ($46) is different from the Palette Metallic Colorama because it really is meant only to highlight key areas. Sweep the super soft brush over your eyeshadow, on the brow bone or in the inner corner of the eye for an illuminating look that’s sure to make you look fresh and well-groomed at all times.
For the mascara junkie, I must encourage you to try Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
($36). I received my sample in a dark plum shade and while the colour turned me off at first, I quickly realized the beauty experts at YSL
knew what they were talking about when they introduced this. The colour doesn’t really show, so don’t fret. However, the purple leaves lashes with a more natural, less intense finish than black while still maintaining the extra thick, plush look you want. I’m hooked! Black mascara who?
And finally, the YSL La Laque Nail Colour
($24 each). Available in three ultra-trendy shades (Gold
, White Gold
, Pink Gold
) they are bursting with colour and they totally represent the season. If you’re looking for that picture perfect makeup look for the holidays, you can’t go wrong with the new YSL collection, available Holt Renfrew
