    Celebrity Favourite: Dermaglow 3-in-1 Moisturizer

These days, multitasking seems to be the way of the world so why not invest in products that are just as versatile as we are? Dermaglow, a Canadian brand, recently released the first and only moisturizer on the market that aims to hydrate, protect against premature aging and act as a foundation.

Dermaglow is a top quality brand favoured by celebs like Kate Winslet. Since she has absolutely flawless-looking skin, it’s safe to say Dermaglow is a trustworthy source for quality skin care products. The Anti-Aging Tinted Moisturizer ($40) is a real time-saver thanks to its triple action formula.

First and foremost, the product acts as a daily moisturizer. I used it a few times last week and I found my skin to be moist yet not greasy all day long. I was very surprised by the colour-match properties of the tinted moisturizer part of it, too. The cream comes out in a basic nude shades and literally transforms to match any skin colour. You can actually watch and see as the cream blends into your skin tone. Although it only provides light coverage, it’s great for evening skin tone and giving your skin a natural look.

The third element of this moisturizer is its anti-aging properties. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and stimulates the production of collagen to give skin more elasticity. I would recommend this cream more for women who are over 35 but it serves as a great tinted moisturizer for any age.

    My Top 3 Fall Moisturizers

I think we can all agree the blistering cold weather and jacked up heating systems result in extra dry skin all winter long. Dry skin is irritating, yes. But there’s more. Dried out skin is ages faster than hydrated skin. Assuming you don’t want to look older than you are and assuming you want fresh, soft and radiant skin, here are the top 3 moisturizers I recommend to help save your skin from fall and winter.

Unlike most people, I have several products in rotation. Whether it’s makeup or skin care items, I always alternate between my favourites. Right now, I am addicted to three, inclluding Lancôme’s Hydra Zen Neurocalm Extreme Soothing Moisturizing Gel-Cream ($73.50). This cream is like a refreshing drink of water for your face. I have dry/combination skin and it starts flaking out when the seasons change. This can be both irritating and unsightly. I recommend testing this product out on a patch of dry skin and waiting about five minutes to see how your skin absorbs it. This will help you figure out exactly how much you need. But a little really does go a long way. It may be a pricey cream, but it’s well worth it.

Another cream I was surprisingly impressed by is Garnier’s Moisture Rescue Gel-Cream ($10.99). Never underestimate an affordable product. Garnier is a fabulous line but this moisturizer is one of my fave Garnier products of all time. It absorbs almost instantly and my skin feels soft and smooth. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long and after prolonged use, the condition of my skin actually improved. Not bad for around ten bucks! You can also opt for the SPF 15 version of Moisture Rescue ($10.99) and the Foaming Cleanser ($7.99) which I am currently infatuated with.

The next moisturizer on my list came out last year but it’s already a classic in my book. Bioderma Hydrabio ($34) is a hydrating lotion that penetrates deep below the surface of the skin without leaving a greasy film behind. Hydrabio is a French brand based out of Lyon and the products are of superior quality. I like that it comes in two different formulas: Light for dry skin and Rich for excessively dry and irritated skin. I actually shared some of this with my fiancé and he loved it. He hates smells, irritating textures and just about everything girl’s products are made of. If it passes his test, it’ll pass anyone’s. You can find this product along with the accompanying Serum ($43) at Pharmaprix locations.

WIN Lise Watier’s HydraSmart Fall Skin Care Collection

One of the biggest drawbacks to winter (aside from the bitter cold, heaps of snow and potential for frostbite) is the damage it causes to your skin. The harsh cold air brushing against your face is not only super uncomfortable but it dries your skin out which makes it age quicker while making it look and feel irritated.

Your number one defence? An intensely hydrating moisturizer that can withstand the bitter cold and all of it’s harmful effects on the skin. Lise Watier has just released a new skin care line called HydraSmart, which consists of one face wash and one daily moisturizer for dry skin or one face wash and one daily moisturizer for normal to combination skin.

I have been using the moisturizer for dry skin myself and it feels absolutely amazing. It keeps my skin hydrated and smooth all day without feeling greasy and judging by the texture, I have no worries it will protect my face all winter, too. I also have the face wash and the great thing about it is that it preserves moisture in the skin even while you cleanse it so your face doesn’t have to start the day off feeling dry and flaky.

And because I love spoiling my Beauty Booty readers, Lise Watier and I are giving you the chance to win your very own HydraSmart set! The winner will also get the chance to specify her skin type (dry or normal/combination) so she can walk away with a package of products tailored to her specifically.
