Am I the Only One Who Never Gets Tired of Glossy Lips?

My fiancé has done everything short of begging to get me stop wearing “the sticky stuff,” but I just can’t. I am addicted to the high gloss finish of a good lip lacquer. MAC is all about gloss so it’s no surprise they’ve got a new gloss line coming out: Glamglass. And glamorous, it is!

New Shimmering Rouge Lip Colour from Shiseido

Here’s an all-new lip colour to add to your wardrobe just in time for spring. (As if you even need any more excuses to buy more makeup.) This shimmering lip colour is so great. When the item was launched, I was invited to the Shiseido counter at the Bay in downtown Montreal to meet with the pros at Shiseido and try the lip colour out myself.

I fell in love with the texture right away. Shimmering Rouge ($30) is ultra-hydrating so it makes the lips appear more plump and full. It feels great on and the shimmering colour is an added bonus. It’s like wearing a nourishing lip balm that just so happens to have a spectacular finish.

It also comes in 13 different shades, ranging from neutral tones to deep berry, orange and pink. I got to see all the colours at the Shiseido counter and I love each and every one of them. And while I was there, I even got to take these adorable pictures in the Shiseido photo booth.  I’m wearing the colour pictured above. As you can see, it’s natural yet totally gorgeous.

Please excuse the quality. I scanned these from my iPhone!

This new product is available only at the Bay.

Get Your Spring Makeup Essentials from Marcelle

Lip gloss, while it has served me well over the years, is being somewhat pushed aside by good old-fashioned lipstick this season. While this trend has been coming up for a while now, most gloss-loving ladies are reluctant to make the switch for the simple reason that most lipsticks tend to dry out on the lips and feel really uncomfortable. If that’s your main concern, you’re going to be thrilled to hear about Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick ($11.95)

This creamy lip colour is ultra-nourishing and glides on super smoothly. My mom has been wearing the same lipstick since I was a little girl and she’s always told me that she can’t wear anything else because she absolutely hates dry lips and couldn’t find anything else that satisfied her. In 20-something years…the same lipstick! I gave her one of these, and she told me the following day that she absolutely loved how the lip colour hydrated her lips for hours. That’s huge.

The lip colour is available in 21 shades so you’re sure to find one that’s right for you. I recommend trying out this vibrant fuchsia shade, Cleopatra. It’s so hot for spring 2011 and you may be surprised at how many different complexions this colour suits.

Another recent discovery for me is the Essentials Purity Soothing Cleansing Water Makeup Remover ($14.25). It’s hypo-allergenic and good for all skin types. I like it because unlike oil-based makeup removers, this one is water-based so it doesn’t leave a residue on the skin or make it greasy. After I use it, I find my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I don’t even need to rinse anything off. If you’re going to go for that bright lip colour, this makeup remover will definitely come in handy.
