My friend Stephanie is sporting the perfect makeup for someone wearing glasses today. Applying the right amount of makeup when you wear glasses is a challenge. Too much doesn’t work and can get lost and not enough can make you look like you didn’t bother to fix yourself up at all.
Here’s how Steph achieved a look that warrants Beauty Booty 411’s stamp of approval:
Lush mascara to widen the eyes, but it’s just right. Thick eyeliner wouldn’t be a good option. She’s wearing a mix of Marcelle Power Volume Mascara and MAC False Lashes Mascara on her upper and lower lash line. This opens up her eyes without being overpowering.
A soft dewy look is perfect when you have glasses on, especially if they’re statement ones like these cuties from Marc Jacobs. She went with Honey Bronze Powder from The Body Shop for a subtle sun-kissed glow and Accord Parfait Blush from L’Oréal Paris for a slight rosy glow on the apples of her cheeks. All very natural-looking, subtle and illuminating.
For lips that are both understated and well-defined, Stephanie went for Frost Thrills MAC Lipstick and Flurry of Fun Lip Glass from MAC, as well.
Lesson of the day: Don’t overdo your makeup when you’re sporting your spectacles, but don’t neglect your look either. Ace it like Steph did by pairing up subdued makeup that merely enhances your glow and illuminates your face instead.
Here are a few celebs I think have also aced the perfect glasses/makeup combos:
Megan Fox (Do you not love her look when she’s toned down this way?)
Leona Lewis (A bold lip – daring but it works.)
