Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break. I know I did. In fact, I’m having a little trouble adjusting to working again. I took the holiday break to sort through all the beauty booty I have around here and started picking my favourites for 2011. Today, I figured I’d start with skin care since we’re stuck in the dead of winter right now. If the cooler weather is giving you the blues, hang in there because I have loads of spring products to show you soon enough. The new looks for spring are so awesome, you’ll feel like the season is right around the corner.
If your new year’s resolution is to look fabulous and take care of your skin this year, today’s blog is about to simplify your life. My two obsessions are lips and hands; the first two spots that show signs of aging. In winter, the dry, cool air can make these sensitive areas even drier and more irritating. So Yves Rocher is launching some fab new products this month to prevent premature aging.
I’ll start with the Culture Bio Repair Lip Balm ($6) because I’m absolutely obsessed with it. I apply it a million times a day, especially right before bed. This buttery soft lip balm really repairs dry and damaged lips, keeping them looking and feeling soft and smooth. Made with five nourishing botanicals (almond, cocoa, sesame, chestnut and hazelnut), this lip balm is the perfect solution to dry lips. Plus, keeping your lips hydrated at all times means no premature wrinkles. Wrinkles are bad enough…we don’t need them a day too soon!
For your hands, which suffer the most during the winter season, I have to recommend Riche Crème Anti-Wrinkle Nourishing Hand Cream ($17). I gave this product to my mother to try out and she swears it makes her hands look smoother and conceals some fine lines and wrinkles. It’s not a miracle cure, but it certainly keeps hands hydrated and looking fresher and younger. It’s a rich cream so you have to give it a few minutes to absorb, but once your skin soaks it up, your hands are anything but greasy. Both of these fab products are available in Yves Rocher stores and online starting this month.
I suggest keeping nourishing products like these with you at all times in winter because nothing is more irritating than dry, cracked skin. What are some of your winter handbag essentials?
