    Moroccanoil Weightless Hydrating Mask

I know: weightless and hydrating in the same sentence. It’s such an oxymoron because moisture is usually heavy so it naturally weighs the hair down. As you know, with my ultra limp hair, I can’t help but get crazy excited every time I discover a product that conditions my dry, yet heavy hair. Read on to find out why I love it.

I swear, the title of this blog post reflects my exact thoughts when I received the press release about this iron. A Few Fabulous Products for Beachy Hair…

As much as I’d love to be on a beach right now, I’m not! I love that messy, wavy hair I get after a day at the beach. It’s such a trendy look this year in fact, that celebs Like Kate Hudson and the Olsen Twins have become pros at sporting the look. (Although let it be known that I in no way approve of Kate Hudson’s weird hair jewellery below!)

If you’re looking for some fab tips on how to achieve the look, read my article for Real Style Network here. Still looking for a few affordable products to get the look yourself – without spending a ton of money?

First things first, try Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Dust It ($23.50). This powder instantly adds texture to the hair and loads of volume. I am a huge powder fan these days, especially when I’m in need of instant volume. Just rub your hands through your hair to blend this powder in and flip your head upside down while you do it. You’ll get Kate’s to-die-for waves in no time.

If your hair is fine and doesn’t hold up too long, try Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray ($23.80). This product is super lightweight and it gives your hair a shiny look. It also adds to the flexible, yet sturdy texture of your hair. This will make your hair look like Adriana Lima’s at a Victoria’s Secret photo shoot!

Finally, remember that messy-style waves doesn’t mean having a poorly- kept mane. Flyaways and frizz will sort of rain on your beachy hair parade so before getting to work on styling, LaCoupe Perfect Curls Frizz Control Cream ($6.99) to keep your locks under control 24/7.

You can always head to the beach and get the look the natural way…but in case you can’t sneak in a vacay soon enough, these products will definitely help you out.

Get on the Sleek and Shiny Hair Trend with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray

While you may not all be fans of Kim Kardashian, you have to admit, her hair is fabulous! I love it when she leaves it down, but being the trend-setting beautista that she is, Kim also knows how to sport one of 2011’s hottest hair trends.

The sleek and shiny tightly pulled back look hit the runways for spring this year and apparently designers are celebs alike are falling in love with it. Call me crazy but this look made my list of faves this season simply because it’s the perfect solution to a bad hair day!

To nail Kim’s look yourself, pull your hair back as tightly as you can with a paddle brush and secure with a new elastic. Don’t grab a 3-year-old elastic which has lost all of its elasticity! Grab a newbie and wrap that ‘do up. Then, I recommend finishing off with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray ($25.80).

Now don’t be scared. Shine spray doesn’t make your hair look dirty as long as you apply it correctly. Hold the bottle a few inches above your hair and spray the product once or twice at most. Wait for the spray to settle and dry and then you’ll be ready to go.

It’s very simple but many of us have a bad relationship with shine spray, only because we’re using it improperly. Trust me, when done correctly, this provides a nice, shiny finish. Besides, when has Moroccanoil ever led us down the wrong path?

Remember that less is more and you’ll turn your hair into a shiny and sleek runway hairstyle in no time. And you can use it when your hair is down, too. Just give it a quick spritz, let it set and just like that you’ll have ultra-shiny, lustrous-looking hair this summer! You can find these goodies at select salons. Visit their website for more info.

Get Smooth Skin With Live Clean Body Lotions

Dry skin is my pet peeve. I don’t like to feel it and I hate seeing it. The white, flaky texture stands out and aside from being ridiculously uncomfortable, it looks awful. My solution? I’m a body lotion maniac. I apply lotion from head to toe every single day.

This year, I’ve started using Live Clean’s new body lotions ($6.99 each) and I am really happy with them. First and foremost, these products are 100% green and pure so they really do feel natural and fresh. They are all plant-based lotions enriched with certified organic botanicals. They’re also paraben- and phthalate-free and hypoallergenic.

There is the Fresh Water Moisturizing Body Lotion, which hydrates dry skin, the Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Replenishing Body Lotion, to soothe severely dry skin, and the Sensitive Skin Fragrance Free Body Lotion, which I definitely recommend for anyone who can’t tolerate harsh smells or ingredients.

While I love all three, my favourite is Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Replenishing Body Lotion. It is so rich yet it doesn’t leave a greasy film behind. Also, I’m addicted to argan oil products like Moroccanoil. Argan oil has the ability to hydrate and repair damaged skin and hair without harsh ingredients that can irritate.

    Loving Moroccanoil Light Treatment

I am a huge fan of Moroccanoil‘s argan-based products, which are among the best on the market right now. For soft, sleek and healthy hair, Moroccanoil is a must. The only problem with the original formula is that it’s a touch heavy. It is oil, after all.

I am really loving Moroccanoil‘s recently-launched Light Treament. It has all the amazing characteristics of the original formula but it doesn’t weigh hair down. I have fine, straight hair. Too much conditioner can make my hair flat so using oil is usually a big no-no for me. But the Light Treatment is great.

After using it, my hair really feels and smells amazing. It’s important to make sure you blend the product in thoroughly, that way all parts of your hair can benefit from the product. Moroccanoil Light Treatment is also great for blonds and other light-haired gals. The heavier Original Treatment may discolour your pale locks. The Light was developed to avoid that problem so women of all hair colours can enjoy the benefits of this hydrating rescue potion.

You can find Moroccanoil Light Treatment wherever Moroccanoil products are sold for $39. Bonus: You only need to use a few drops at a time so one bottle will last you forever.

Have you ever tried any of these argan-infused hair products? Which ones are your faves?

    Get Emily Blunt’s Emmy Hairstyle

I am a big fan of Emily Blunt. I particularly enjoyed the character she played in the Devil Wears Prada, but aside from that, I really do like her style when it comes to hair and makeup. This Hollywood star is always on trend and never over-the-top.
At the Emmy Awards last Sunday, she hit the red carpet with the signature waves of the 1920s. Her iconic hairstyle was everything I think a woman on the red carpet should strive to be: elegant, classy and utterly chic. Laini Reeves, co-owner of the hot new Essensuals London Salon on Melrose Avenue in L.A., styled Emily’s hair for the event and I got the inside scoop on how she did it so you can recreate the look yourself.

It shouldn’t surprise you that the line of hair products she used to get this gorgeous hairstyle is none other than Moroccanoil. To rock this look, dry and split ends are a definite faux pas. To get Emily’s locks looking silky soft, Laini used Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo and the Original Treatment. Then she applied some Intense Curl Control Cream (the most recent addition to the Moroccanoil clan) and parted Emily’s hair on the side.

Laini used the Glimmer Shine Spray on Emily’s wet hair and let it dry after using pins to create the waves. (So you add pins and wait for the hair to dry in that position.) Then she raked her fingers through the dry hair to give the waves a more natural effect. Once the waves were ready, Laini used a flat paddle brush to keep the roots flat and the waves in tact. Add some pins to hold the hair back behind the ears, spray some Luminous Hairspray and just like that, you’ll be red carpet ready.

Which celeb do you think sported the best Emmy look?
