    Me Fingers Are Sparklin’ With Glam Slam and Shatters by OPI

    OPI is just exploding with product launches this summer but some of their most talked about newbies include the Serena Williams Glam Slam Duos ($20.95 per set) and the Shatter Polish ($10.95) available in a variety of awesome shades. I started out with the Glam Slam sparkling shades: Spark de Triomphe ( shimmering silver glitter polish) and Rally Pretty Pink (a gorge sunset pink glitter).

    I actually super love these polishes alone, but they each come with a shatter polish, the newest sensation to hit the world of nail colours. I covered my Spark de Triomphe with one coat of White Shatter. In mere seconds, the polish cracked and turned from this….

    ….to this:

    With my Rally Pretty Pink Polish, I paired Red Shatter. I absolutely adore the glittery pink by itself:

    But the red shatter definitely shakes things up a little bit.

    Aside from this amazing red, you can also snag the shatter polish in one of three amazing blue shades: cobalt, indigo and sapphire.

    Rock Your Nails with Dior’s Limited Edition Spring Nail Polish

    The lovers of rock are going to swoon for this collection. Dior Vernis is known for being not only super trendy but long-lasting. I’m never disappointed with a Dior polish. Next month, they’ll be releasing the Rock Collection ($24 each), which will be exclusive to the Bay.

    With 5 amazing shades and one smoky-finish topcoat, I’ve decided I need (yes, need) them all. My favourite is Perfecto #804 which is a slate grey shade. It’s the perfect follow-up to last season’s Gris Montaigne, which was an amazing hit in the beauty world.While lights polish is hot for spring 2011, a few dark shades are timeless, like deep purple and indigo.

    The only sad part is that these lacquers are limited edition so who knows how long they’ll last. I’m giving you ample time to prepare. Head to the Bay store nearest you April 1 and snag your faves before anyone else does.

    Spring Trend: Flashy Fingertips

    This fall and winter was all about deep, dark shades, but spring/summer 2011 is about anything but. The trend is moving toward ultra-bright fingertips and it just doesn’t get any brighter than Powerful Pink Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel ($5.99) from Avon.

    Available in four shades, my personal faves are Powerful Pink and Vivid Violet (which I actually have on my toes right now). I like the ultra high-shine finish of these polishes. It’s like having gloss on your fingernails. It’s definitely the flashiest line of nail colours I’ve seen so far this season so if you’re anxious to get on this trend, check out Avon’s website starting in March 2011.

    As usual, these polishes are toluene-formaldehyde- and phthalate-free. But the best part is that these salon-quality lacquers can last up to 10 days. Say goodbye to nail touch-ups and say hello to spring’s vibrant and bright trend.

    Nicole by OPI Releases Exclusive Walmart Collection

    While the thought of entering a busy Walmart on a Saturday morning scares me, I’d actually brave the crowds just to get my hands on these exclusive Nicole by OPI shades. Kicking off the new year with some vibrant polishes, OPI has successfully released another slew of trend-approved lacquers.

    With four shades ranging from reds to purples, there’s something for every feminine gal out there. Personally, I’m in love with Count on Me which is a shimmering lavender shade. To give you a quick heads up, spring 2011 is going to be exploding with lavender from clothing to makeup. It’s a huge trend for the new year and once again, Nicole by OPI is ahead of it all. Aside from the trendy shade, I’m also really loving the pearly finish of it.

    For the woman who loves to be on trend but prefers a more classic and sophisticated look, Never Give Up, a deep plum lacquer, is going to be right up your alley. Moving into the reds in this collection is He’s A Keeper. This particular red encompasses all the characteristics of the classic signature shade that has topped the trend charts countless times over the last few decades.

    The more adventurous girl may want to experiment with Got Style?, a matte dirty rose (pictured below) that gives the traditional shade a stylish twist.     Lippmann Holiday Nail Polish at Murale

    The ever-popular Murale stores are quickly becoming the go-to spot for makeup junkies like myself. And after seeing their holiday catalogue, I can tell you this is one beauty shop you don’t want to miss this season.

     

    Lippmann Collection is one of those creme de la creme brands of nail lacquer. The covetable line has just released some amazing holiday polishes that are exploding with sequins and shine. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season, Boom Boom Pow ($24) is inspired by supermodel Kate Moss. With 24K gold sequins, this eye-catching colour is a must-have for the ultimate beauty lover.

     

    Today Was a Fairytale ($24) is a deep blue, also embellished with silver sequins. Infused with trendy colour and a shimmering finish, this shade is definitely going to be my go-to nail polish for New Year’s Eve this year.     Shimmering Holiday Nail Polish from Avon

    If you think of Avon as a brand that isn’t for younger women, you’re all wrong. Especially since this holiday season, their makeup collection is trendy and spectacular. While I have fallen for the Celestial Shimmering Eyeshadows and Rich Colordisiac Lipstick, today I’m going to show you their two Limited Edition Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel ($5.99) shades. (No worries, deets on the other fab items to come this month.)

    Splendid Blue is a deep navy hue jam-packed with shimmer. If there is ever a time when overdosing on shimmer is acceptable, it’s during the holiday season. I am absolutely in love with this deep blue nail colour and the fact that the lustrous finish lasts up to 10 days is just an added bonus. As you can see in my photo above, there is definitely no lack of sparkles and there are few nail polishes out there right now that can compete with it’s lustrous finish and wallet-friendly price.

    For the ladies who like to get their pink on, Pink Radiance is calling your name this holiday season. The colour is so bold and vibrant. I love how you can use it to make your nails your statement “jewellery.” With this vivacious, ultra-shiny look, there’s nearly no need for jewellery or lots of makeup.

    Nicole by OPI New Matte Nail Polish

    Nicole by OPI always surprises me with their fashion-forward nail lacquers and the latest collection to make its way to my doorstep is definitely one of my all-time faves.

    Matte, matte, matte! That’s all I can say when it comes to fall trends. And Nicole by OPI has nailed it with the Matte Collection of nail lacquers ($10.49 each). Although the shades reflect the matte texture popularized on the runways this year, that’s not to say the shades are dull or lifeless. In fact, this collection is just the opposite.

    I wouldn’t actually recommend sporting the colours the way I have in the photo. I only did that to show you as many of the colours as possible. As you can see, the bold colours are bursting with shimmer, even though they have a smooth, classy and matte finish. (TIP: I would skip on the top coat with these nail lacquers to keep the trend in tact.)

    On my fingers (from index finger to pinky), I’m wearing Respect the World, a shimmering jade green; Stolen Kisses, a sparkling pinky-red, Virtuous Violet, a dazzling purple haze, and No Limits, a rich black bursting with sparkles. There are seven awesome shades to choose from: all sparkling, all matte and all on trend.

    Go Goth! for Halloween with OPI

    Halloween is probably one of my favourite holidays for the simple reason that I get the chance to experiment with wacky colours and it’s actually acceptable! Are you excited for it? If not, OPI is about to get you in the spooky spirit of Halloween.

    Go Goth! is an adorable collection of nail polish minis inspired by the ghoulish holiday. The set comes with four dark, shimmer shades and a lace cuff bracelet to finish off the goth look. In the photo below, I have on Nevermore, which is the blackened purple shade. The lacquered finish is lustrous and utterly chic.

    The other three shades are Unripened, a glittering teal (awesome!!), Sanguine, a shimmering blood-red shade and Obscurity, a matte black with a finish that’s anything but dull. (It kind of borders on dark grey.) All four shades are hot for fall 2010 and the gothic set-up is just so festive–which I adore. And don’t let the minis fool you. These tiny bottles are equipped with the usual extra-wide OPI applicator brush so you won’t have any trouble experimenting with these shades.

    As you already know, OPI is one of leading brands of nail colour in the world. All their polishes are toluene- and formaldehyde-free. The Go Goth!     Fall Nail Polish by Joe Fresh Beauty

    The new nail polish lineup from Joe Fresh is a going to be a huge hit this season. With loads of trendy colours in the mix, any one of these shades is a definite must. My first fave is the grey polish. This season, grey is the new black in everything from beauty to fashion. Stay on trend with this matte variation of the shade on your fingernails.

    I’m also loving the blue and greens, which are also very hot colours for fall. The white polish (centre) is a celeb-worthy nail colour sported by Hollywood stars like Kim Kardashian. It’s a very trend matte top coat.

    If you know Joe Fresh polishes well, you’ll know these adorable little bottles contain some top quality product at a fraction of the price. Get a bottle for $4 or buy 3 for only $10. You can’t really argue with prices like that.

    What are your faves in the collection? It’s a touch choice for me, but I’m going to go with forest green. It’s so chic this fall.
