I got another biosculpture pedi done last week and I ventured out into the world of neon shades. I was a little uncertain about how I would feel about sporting this flashy spring trend, but as it turns out, I’m loving it. I’m already a fan of pink in general but the neon colour is all-around fantastic.
Fashion has been greatly influenced by the 80s the past few seasons and as we already know, fashion and beauty trends go hand-in-hand. This un-traditional pink that rocked the 80s has been spotted on celebs like Lauren Conrad and Christina Aguilera this spring. I’m wearing biosculpture gel on my toesies (more info on that here) but there are a few brands that have come out with the perfect shades of neon pink this summer so you can rock this trend like a pro.
Essie, Chanel and OPI are just a few of my favourite go-to nail polish brands that offer shockingly vibrant neon pink hues. While neon pink is my personal fave, the trend isn’t limited to just the one colour. If neon green, yellow, orange or blue suit your taste more, go for it.
I only have one tip. No, wait. Make that a suggestion that is not to be ignored. If you opt for neon bright fingertips or toesies, keep in mind that it’s one or the other. It’s great to experiment with trends but there’s no need to bathe in the trend from head-to-toe. Your fingernails and toe nails should never both have neon polish on them. It’s just too much. And although the 80s trend is in full swing for now, there’s no reason to overdo it. Not only is it an eye sore, but it takes away from the beauty of the trend.
Will you be experimenting with neon nail polish on your fingernails or toe nails this summer? What are some of your favourite shades?
