Scars? Stretch Marks? Nix ‘Em With Skin Therapy Oil

If you’re not well-acquainted with Palmer’s, you should start getting to know them right now. I have been a long-time fan of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Shea Butter Cream. I apply the cream to my hands every night before bed because I once read the first signs of aging appear on the hands! To avoid such a horrible thing, I moisturize all the time — I’m borderline OCD about it. And that little jar makes my hands silky smooth each and every night.

Why do I love this new oil? Find out!

Duo Body Butter from The Body Shop

I am not ashamed to admit it – I’m a body butter maniac! Is it a crime to want to soft, silky skin? I am constantly creaming myself up because I hate the feeling of dry skin and I want to keep my skin looking young and flexible as long as is humanly possible.

The Body Shop has just released a great new product that is going to make combination skin-sufferers very happy. The Body Butter Duo ($16) is divided into two sections: one for dry skin and one for normal skin. That way you can get extra hydration only where you need it. Too much moisture can make normal skin greasy so if you have combination skin like me, or have dryer areas like elbows and knees, you won’t have to buy several creams. Just this one!

If you’re familiar with The Body Shop’s body butters you know they’re loaded with my fave naturally hydrating ingredient: shea butter. They’ll leave your skin soft to the touch. Choose from one of their four fab aromas (Vanilla, Acai Berry, Sweet Pea and Macadamia) and you’ll have nothing but super supple skin this summer.

Why Not Give Myself a True Blue Spa Day?

I’m obsessed with the spa. If my life consisted only of spa days, I’m convinced I’d be perfectly happy. Unfortunately, I’m not as rich as my wants would like for me to be so my spa days are limited, but I do relish in the discovery of at-home spa products so I can upkeep my luxurious habits any time I want to. If you’re looking for a day of luxury, give it to yourself right after you head to Bath & Body Works and pick up these essentials.

This tiresome winter seems to be drawing to  close but who knows when it will finally relent? I still have the problem of dry hands so it’s not time to put away the heavy-duty moisturizers just yet. My newest obsession is the True Blue Spa Super Softening Hand Lotion ($20). It contains paraffin, olive, avocado, apricot oils and vitamin E so you can imagine how creamy it is. The paraffin acts as a sealant that keeps the moisture in and leaves your hands feeling silky soft (without the grease) way longer. It also has a light citrus scent which I’m loving.

The True Blue Spa Super Rich Body Cream ($18) is a luxe treatment that’s made with my favourite ingredient of all: shea butter. Nothing hydrates quite like it and I promise, it’s not greasy of gross. It feels like silk. Even though summertime is around the bend, a good moisturizer should always be in hand. I recommend moisturizing your whole body from head-to-toe every day for soft, supple skin.

And with pedi-season about to debut this year, no at-home spa day would be complete without Smoothing Foot Scrub ($15). I love scrubs! They feel amazing and they leave the skin really soft and smooth. If you have dry, cracked feet from the winter, this baby is going to save your feet! Happy spa-ing!

New & Trendy: Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

As some of you may already know, I am obsessed with lip balms. Burt’s Bees is one of my favourite brands when it comes to lip and skin care because the products are all chemical-free and 100% natural.

I have been using Burt’s Bees lip balms just about everyday for the last few years. I apply a touch of it every morning before lip colour of any kind. It’s my secret to having smooth, hydrated lips all day long.

Next month, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Burt’s Bees will be releasing their first-ever tinted lip balm so you can have pretty, smoochable lips. It still has all the same great qualities and ingredients as the original, like ylang-ylang, shea butter, vitamin E and beeswax, but now it’ll also have a lovely finish.

Available in six subtle and wearable shades, there is definitely a Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm ($7.99) for you. I like to wear it under a clear gloss sometimes so my lips look naturally tinted. You can also wear it alone if you refuse to go anywhere without at least a little colour on (I also wear it on those makeup-free days when I run to the drug store with huge sunglasses on) and above all, it can still be used as ordinary balm day or night.

It smells great and feels fabulous. I sometimes bring it with me and reapply during the day, too. Winter is hard on the lips so keeping them hydrated is super-important. Look out for this new product next month at your local pharmacy or their online store (available at the end of January).

Survive the Winter with Bath & Body Works

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and were spoiled with tons of goodies! Can we ever really be too spoiled?? I like to think not. So even though Christmas has just passed, I say indulge yourself this winter by arming your skin against the harsh weather and keeping it luxuriously soft and smooth.

I am a total Bath & Body Works freak. I am a little bit obsessed with skin care so when these three little gems made their way to my doorstep, I was pleased to say the least. The Signature Collection Triple Moisture Shower Cream in Warm Vanilla Sugar ($12.50) is the first step to fabulous skin this winter. Taking a shower with it means you start off with skin that’s hydrated, smooth and smells fantastic. I’m also very sensitive to smells so if this doesn’t bother me, it shouldn’t bother you.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: the first signs of aging appear on your hands and lips. So it’s absolutely necessary to keep both those areas hydrated at all times, especially during the winter. True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Hand Cream ($12.50) is in my handbag right now and I’m super thankful for it. It saves my hands from drying out, cracking and aging prematurely. It’s really true to its name, leaving hands feeling like they’ve just been wrapped in luxurious cashmere. Another one of my mottos: if it’s got shea butter, you need it! It’s one of the best naturally hydrating ingredients you can find.

For the lips, I’m starting to fall in love with C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream ($7.50). It intensely hydrates the lips and gives them a burst of flavour with its delicious lemon aroma. I like to apply it before bed to let the formula repair my lips while the cells are regenerating. That’s the best time to apply intensely hydrating products.

Looking for fab skin? Head to Bath & Body Works. You may even score some amazing Boxing Week sales on your fave products.

Yves Rocher Botanical Body Care Expert Firming Balm

Centella Expert Firming Balm by Yves Rocher is one of my new favourite body creams right now. It’s very nourishing but that doesn’t mean it’s greasy. It actually absorbs very quickly into the skin, leaving it silky soft and hydrated all day long.

This cream is actually a firming balm as well so it’s main goal is to  help restructure the contour of your silhouette. That doesn’t mean it’s a miracle cream but it certainly does make my skin look and feel smoother, firmer and softer.

The key ingredients in this body cream are Candelila wax, shea butter (my fave!) and sesame oil. All natural ingredients, all great for the skin. Personally, I think anything with shea butter in it is amazing because it’s one of the only ingredients out there that intensely hydrates the skin without leaving an icky greasy film behind. The 150ml jar of Centella Expert Firming Balm retails for $34 (but right now it’s on sale for only $19 online). Check out the DEALS page to find out more about Yves Rocher’s shopping bargains.
