Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Mamma Mia Gift Package fro LUSH

First off, this Mamma Mia gift ($39.95) is the name awesome but the package itself is super cute. And not because I don’t love my mother or anything, but pre-wrapped gifts are my besties!

The Mamma Mia gift package is also super affordable even though it’s chock full of amazing products no woman should go without. Aside from the amazing, super nourishing soaps and bath gel LUSH is known for, the package also includes Creamed Almond & Coconut Smoothie cream and Sugar Scrub.

I’m a self-professed sugar scrub addict. The sugar is a natural exfoliate and not only does it smell lovely but it’ll leave your skin feeling silky smooth and supple. Doesn’t Mom deserve to wrap herself in luxury every once in a while? You can pick up this neatly prepared gift pack at LUSH now! (And I won’t judge you if you buy an extra one for yourself.)

Happy Halloween from Bath & Body Works

Alright, I’ll admit it. I am addicted to these hand soaps from Bath & Body Works. I never thought I would be since I always figured hand soap is hand soap. But these ones smell amazing and feel even better. They moisturize your hands while they cleanse, which is really important in winter, especially if you have dry hands like I do.

Aside from that, my other obsession of the moment is Halloween. I love anything festive and when it comes to nearly any holiday, I love to decorate the house and get in the spirit. If you’re a fan of adorable decorations and the ever-popular products from Bath & Body Works, you’re going to love what they have in store for you this year.

The Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap ($5.50) is one of the most popular items and I say that partially because it’s one of my personal favourites. Aside from the amazing scent of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, the soap penetrates the skin for a deep feeling of clean and leaves your hands feeling silky smooth. I especially like that you can choose a pumpkin- or ghost-shaped dispenser to decorate the bathroom ($12.50 per dispenser).

The Pumpkin Candle from Slatkin & Co. ($22.50) is a three-wick candle that will quickly fill your home with the wonderful aroma of sweet pumpkin. You can also go for that adorable Haunted House Luminary (sold separately) which fits the candles inside perfectly. It’s both festive and useful.

And if you’re planning on trick-or-treating with small children, you may want to consider buying the Anti-Bacterial Glow-in-the-Dark Pocketbac Deep Cleansing Hand Gel ($2.00 or 3/$5.00). Hand sanitizer is always handy to have around when you’re going door-to-door.

Check out the products online or visit one of the new Bath & Body Works locations in Montreal and Laval.

    Happy Halloween from LUSH Cosmetics

Halloween is coming up and, personally, I like to get into the spirit (no pun intended). I am a fan of all festive holidays so it’s no surprise that when LUSH delivered a package of fresh Halloween-themed handmade cosmetics to my door, I was happy as a clam! These special soaps are inspired by Mexico’s “Day of the Dead,” a day to celebrate lost and departed souls. (Spooky, huh?!)

I’ll start with my favourite product in the bunch: Calacas Shower Jelly ($4.95). This slime-like jelly is in the shape of a skull and it’s bursting with the aroma of lime which smells absolutely amazing, especially in the shower. Here’s the real beauty of the spooky soap: you put it in the freezer so it gets extra chilled. The next morning, you take your still-soft, freezing cold jelly and slap it on your skin in the shower. It’ll give you a real fright but it’s invigorating at the same time. It’s much like hot and cold baths at a spa; insanely cold yet amazing at the same time. The jelly also has aloe vera gel for soft skin.

Tip: If you want to have a little more fun with this jelly on Halloween, try throwing it on your man while he’s in the shower. The frozen feeling of the jelly is sure to scare him. And it’ll be hilarious to watch!

The next Halloween-inspired piece is the Calavera Bath Bomb ($5.95). This is just amazing. For those who enjoy a spa-like experience (like myself), this is the product for you. Just dunk it into the bath and let it dissolve. It’ll turn your water lime green, blue and orange for a very festive look. At the same time, it soothes and softens skin in the bath. It’s so relaxing. It also contains Mexican marigold petals to soften skin even more.

The Lady Catrina Soap ($5.95) is inspired by a painting by Jose Guadalupe Posada which was designed to show that the rich are as susceptible to death as everyone else. Lady Catrina’s big, embellished hats have since become a symbol of Mexico’s “Day of the Dead” celebrations. My favourite part? Aside from the cultural and festive aspects of it, the soap is zesty and soft. My skin feels smooth and has a great scent afterward.

Get ready for Halloween everyone! It’s coming up.

Bath & Body Works is here!

This past weekend, Bath & Body Works finally opened up in Quebec, as I mentioned it would in a previous blog post a little while back. No more trips to Ontario or South of the border to get your hands on these amazing scented body products.

My current faves are the hand soaps from the fall collection. The aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon and caramel apple will flood your home with the sweet scent of autumn. I’m personally a big fan of Caramel Apple. It smells delish and the soap is smooth and hydrating.

Plus, you can still choose from the exfoliating hand soaps which smell utterly amazing and leave your skin feeling silky smooth. Have you had a chance to visit the new stores in Laval and Montreal yet? Which Bath & Body Works products are your faves?

Bath & Body Works is coming to Quebec

Finally! If you love Bath & Body Works as much as I do, you no longer have to take a trip to Ontario or the U.S. to get your hands on your favourite products. The chain store is expecting to open up 4 locations in Quebec by September 2010.

The locations will be Fairview Pointe-Claire, Place Rosemere, Carrefour Laval and Promenades St-Bruno. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Antibacterial Hand Soaps with exfoliatng beads. They moisturize, exfoliate and leave your hand with a sweet smell. I’m partial to the Black Raspberry Vanilla scent.

    Happy shopping!
