Chanel Spring Makeup: This is Why I am Obsessed with Beauty Products!

Anyone who knows me has probably complained at one time or another about my hoarder-like collection of beauty booty. While I receive the products to test for this blog, the really scary part is that I actually use the majority of what I get regularly. Who could receive a Chanel lipstick or eyeshadow palette and not want to use it? I rotate literally hundreds of cosmetics per month. It’s bad, I know. BUT, just take a glimpse at this collection and tell me you wouldn’t find excuses to go out just so you could wear these.

Le Vernis ($26) in Black Pearl is such a pretty nail colour. It’s not the pale spring trend, but more of a staple shade that fits into any well-rounded nail lacquer collection. The metallic finish is what does it for me. I don’t think I’ll get over shiny and metallic finishes when it comes to makeup.

For the lips, I’m so into Rouge Coco ($38) in Peregrina. It’s such a spring-ready colour and it’s really understated, elegant and effortlessly chic. It’s great for women who want to experiment with pale shades but aren’t sure how far on the colour wheel they’re willing to go. This natural pink hue is subtle, yet very pretty and it has a very faint touch of shimmer for a luscious effect. Loves it!

I’m also a big fan of the Ombres Perlées Eyeshadow Palette ($66) which my Facebook fans already know about since I posted a photo and description of my obsession over it a couple of weeks ago. Isn’t it amazing? The iridescent shades are breathtaking!

These products are available now at Chanel counters across Canada. Enjoy, beauty lovers!

Radiance Shampoo That’s Great for the Earth, too!

Green products seem to be the wave of the future so for those of you who definitely want to make a smaller carbon footprint but don’t want to sacrifice the luxuries you’re used to when it comes to beauty products, here’s one fab solution.

Yves Rocher’s new Radiance Shampoo ($8) is going to surprise you. I hate to admit it, but I have very few expectations of products that don’t have the ingredients I’m used to. But this shampoo is absolutely fabulous. It really nourishes the hair without weighing it down. It’s suitable for almost all hair types and it’s incredibly affordable, to boot!

Made with natural ingredients like vitamin E, lemon extract and botanical cleansing ingredients, you’re sure to get clean, luscious and eco-friendly hair with this product. Plus, whenever you buy a product from Yves Rocher’s Botanical Product Collection, one tree will be planted until 50 million new trees have been planted all over the world. So far, Yves Rocher has managed to plant 12 million. Great job!

Get faboosh hair and do your part to save the planet at the same. Remember, Earth Day is coming up on April 22. Start thinking of ways you can help out. Radiance Shampoo will be available at Yves Rocher stores and online starting next month.

Chloé Dresses Up in a Pink Bow and We Loves

Chloé is giving their classic fragrance a fresh and feminine twist this spring. The Chloé Eau de Parfum Rose Edition ($90) smells like a fresh bouquet of roses blended with magnolia, lily of the valley, amber and cedar wood. Together they make the perfect luxe fragrance for the trend-setting beautista.

This floral and elegant fragrance is dressed up in a flashy pink bow and it makes the sophisticated bottle look more adorable than ever. I really like the spontaneous and flirty aroma of this fragrance. It’s an intense scent that suits a woman with a strong and sexy personality. Yet it’s also elegant, refined and simple. And since it’s an eau de parfum, the scent is much more concentrated so just one spray is all you need to envelop yourself in the luxurious aroma of it.

The new fragrance launches in April and will be available exclusively at Holt Renfrew across Canada, select Bay Department stores, Murale, Sephora, Mills, Ogilvy’s, and drugstores across Canada. If you’re looking to spoil yourself or a friend this spring, this limited edition splurge-worthy buy may be just what you’re looking for.

Rock Your Nails with Dior’s Limited Edition Spring Nail Polish

The lovers of rock are going to swoon for this collection. Dior Vernis is known for being not only super trendy but long-lasting. I’m never disappointed with a Dior polish. Next month, they’ll be releasing the Rock Collection ($24 each), which will be exclusive to the Bay.

With 5 amazing shades and one smoky-finish topcoat, I’ve decided I need (yes, need) them all. My favourite is Perfecto #804 which is a slate grey shade. It’s the perfect follow-up to last season’s Gris Montaigne, which was an amazing hit in the beauty world. While lights polish is hot for spring 2011, a few dark shades are timeless, like deep purple and indigo.

The only sad part is that these lacquers are limited edition so who knows how long they’ll last. I’m giving you ample time to prepare. Head to the Bay store nearest you April 1 and snag your faves before anyone else does.

I’m Obsessing Over Colourful Eyes from Yves Rocher

Aside from the fact that I’m just purely over winter, I’m desperate for the warmer weather to hit so I can start sporting these crazy colourful eyes with my new goodies from Yves Rocher. This trend-setting brand has been completely wow-ing me this year!

Eye makeup (my fave) is a great place to experiment with colour. As you can see by the wicked photo above, colourful eyeliner can be the hottest thing ever. Maybe walking around the streets with that many colours wouldn’t work in real life, but you can definitely replace your usual black eyeliner with one of these flashy colours to call attention to your eyes. I’m addicted to the Waterproof Eye Pencil in Turquoise No. 5 ($12). It really enhances brown and hazel eyes and it gives your look a very subtle touch of glam. Plus, it’s a smooth glide pencil so it’s super easy to apply.

I suggest wearing this flashy eyeliner with nude eyeshadow, soft blush and barely-there gloss so the eyes can take centre stage. For the times when a good old-fashioned black eyeliner is called for, I like to use the Felt Tip Eyeliner ($16). It stays in place for 12 hours and it’s ultra-pigmented so it makes for a really exaggerated cat-eye. It’s also a great option for women who love the liquid liner effect but can’t use it (guilty!). I can’t use it either. I always makes a huge mess. The long felt tip makes it really simple to apply and you can stop and continue without messing up the look at all. I love it.

To complete any eye makeup look, a mascara is always needed. I have really grown to become a huge fan of Yves Rocher mascaras so 360 Length Mascara ($19) fit into my routine perfectly. It really does make my lashes longer and thicker and the spherical tip means I never miss those tiny lashes along the inner corner of the eye. Plus, it’s enriched with almond protein, which also coats and protects lashes from damage.

This beautiful new collection will be available at Yves Rocher stores and online starting next month.

YSL Spring Stunner: Pure Chromatic Wet n’ Dry Eyeshadow

I have become addicted to this palette. And I really can’t afford to be addicted to more things because my makeup drawers are already exploding! But the new Pure Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette ($74) is a luxurious spring essential you are going to fall head-over-heels for. It hits Holt Renfrew, The Bay and select Murale stores this April. I’ve been using my palette nearly every day since I received it.

As you can see by the images, YSL is about to release yet another stunning luxury product, perfect for the gal who wants to spoil herself this spring. The palette pictured below is the one I’m using. The beauty of these palettes is that the iridescent eyeshadows can be used both wet or dry.

Naturally, when you use the eyeshadows dry, their enhancing shimmer is suitable for the daytime. When used wet, you can get the ultra-dramatic and bold look pictured below. So gorgeous. Looks like we have more to look forward to next month than just warmer weather!

    Natural Beauty from COVERGIRL NatureLuxe

I’ve been blown away by vibrant and colourful makeup for spring this past month or so, as you may have noticed by my flashy orange lips last week. But as much am I love the bold trends for spring 2011, we can’t forget that pales, nudes and natural hues are also on trend. (Side note: in my personal opinion, natural makeup never goes out of style.)

COVERGIRL has just released a line of cosmetics that replaces conventional synthetic ingredients with hand-picked natural ones instead. My favourite item is the Liquid Silk Foundation ($15.99). Available in 14 different shades, this lightweight foundation also has SPF 10. Do I need to lecture you again on the importance of wearing sunscreen EVERY DAY?

I have been wearing it all day for the last couple of weeks and I find it to be ultra-covering yet invisible. It doesn’t have that cakey look that some foundations can give. It really gives your face a natural look.

The collection also includes Gloss Balm With SPF 15 ($11.99). Available in 16 light, natural and understated shades, this product acts as both a lip enhancer and a balm. It’s so creamy and soft and keeps my lips ultra-hydrated all day long. It provides a sheer look that is just so sexy for summer. I’ve been wearing number 240 (pictured below) and I totally love it.

Bonus: The face of this collection is Taylor Swift. And we loves Swifty!

New Prada Fragrances for Men and Women This Spring

I’m really early with this blog post, but I want to make sure I give you all a head start. If you’re looking for a new fragrance for your man, look no further than Prada‘s newest fragrance: Amber Pour Homme Intense ($90) which will be hitting Pharmaprix / Shopper’s Drug Mart and Murale April 15.

This newest addition to the Prada Amber fragrance family is a limited edition product so you definitely don’t want to get your hands on it fast. When I received this bottle and smelled the aroma, I pictured in my head the manliest of men. The patchouli and vanilla fragrance is light and soft but it has that sexy scent I love on a man. It has a slightly spicy scent to it, too so it’s definitely for the adventurous man in your life.

Prada released new fragrances for spring 2010 and they were fabulous. This year is no different. The fashion house is well known for their iconic designs and their fragrance collection upholds the same elite standards and flawless reputation.

Ladies, don’t worry. There’s a fragrance for us, too. Infusion de Rose ($120) is a sweet scent made of up of the aromas of beeswax, peppermint, mandarin and rose. It’s a delicate scent made for the effortlessly chic, sophisticated and utterly elegant femme fatale. Like Amber Pour Homme Intense, Infusion de Rose only hits shelves April 15. If a statement-making fragrance is what you’re after, you’ll definitely think it’s worth the wait.

Speaking of fragrances, I’m curious. Are you loyal to one specific scent or do you play the field? I have to admit…I’m a disloyal fragrance fiend. I wear a different one everyday and am now up to 11 scents in my rotation! How about you?

Pretty in Prints by Milly for Clinique

I have an amazing announcement today, which my fashion-forward readers are going to love. Renowned designer Michelle Smith, the creator behind the Milly label, has teamed up with Clinique to make one of spring 2011’s prettiest makeup collections. With a groovy, 60s-inspired feel and the beauty of sweet pink, Pretty in Prints will have you feeling more feminine and flirty than ever.

My first tip is to get your hands on the Limited Edition Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 ($18) in Milly Pink. While I currently have about 30 glosses in rotation (if not more) I never ever go without a Long Last Glosswear from Clinique in my collection. It’s my go-to gloss when I need long-lasting shine and constant hydration.

For a lady who wants an elegant and sophisticated, yet trendy and feminine look, definitely go for the Limited Edition Pretty In Prints Compact ($43). It has the perfect blend of pink and neutral eyeshadows plus a blush that’s just the right amount of pink.

Finish off the look with some High Impact Mascara ($18) and you’ll be ready to go. The best part? Michelle even designed this adorable pouch to keep your Pretty in Prints products, making them way easier to bring along with you when you’re on-the-go. “The pouch for the Pretty in Prints makeup bag is designed in a signature print from my collection. I travel to Europe several times a year to research the archives of many of the esteemed fabric houses,” says Michelle.

This adorable collection hits Clinique counters this month so keep your eyes peeled for it.

    I’m Officially Obsessed with Tokidoki

If you haven’t yet seen the loud display of flashy Tokidoki palettes at Sephora yet then I’m inclined to ask whether or not you’ve been living under a rock. For those of you loyal Beauty Booty readers who read all about the Tokidoki launch right here a few months back, you don’t need me to reexplain why this adorable brand is oh-so-covetable. I must admit, I’m a sucker for adorable packaging and Tokidoki knows exactly how to steal my attention from nearly every other brand in the store.

Looking at the Soda Shop Palette ($64 — valued at $225), we can see how Italian artist, Simone Legno, brings edgy and cute together in his artwork. (Ignore the broken purple shadow. It broke during transport.) Aside from the cute display of intricate characters and colours, the Soda Pop Palette is loaded with top-quality products. These 12 hydrating eyeshadow shades (totally rock chic), shimmering eyeliner and SANDy Nail File (which is just too cute for words) cover all the basics. Plus, everything comes in an adorable tin you’ll want to bring everywhere with you. The only downside? It’s limited edition so you have to hurry!

Tokidoki is one of those can’t-miss brands that is chock full of products that not only catch your eye but wear well and are two steps ahead of the trend game, too. Just to give you an idea, here are a few more pictures of some of my favourite Tokidoki goodies that Sephora will have in store for you this season.

    Do you love?
